One of my favorite liquid detergents. I have a tendency to buy a few different brands. Many times I purchase for price. But, the Arm and Hammer is one that I consistently purchased to dilute slightly for use as a stain pre-treatment. I have a heavy duty spray bottle that can handle the added thickness of the diluted detergent. I have tried other detergents as a pre-treat, and none work as well as the Arm and Hammer. I have also found the detergent is an excellent cleaning agent in my HE washer. I have an HE approximately 3 1/2 years old, before they offered the agitator option again. Getting clothes clean in one wash didn't seem to work as well as I liked until I started experimenting with different laundry detergents as pre-treatments The "stain removers" did work. After several different brands, the Arm and Hammer became my choice. I may use different detergents for washing but for stain removal Arm and Hammer has won my personal tests. The scent and strength choices are many. I do recommend you do your own experiments and decide. I am happy just to wash and add an extra rinse. The days of 3 and 4 washes after the change from an agitator washer to the HE are over due to the stain pretreatment by Arm and Hammer. ... show more

    • Bottle leaked best thing ever!
Okay yes one of them leaked everywhere but it was wrapped in plastic and that was what inspired this review. After all it's liquid and it's coming through the mail don't expect perfection! BUT the day before it arrived I had a snafu with some oil based paint and it was all over my hand. My hand was yellow. Bright big bird yellow (or if you are younger Minion yellow). Couldn't get it off. While washing the outside of the container off that had leaked guess what 😳 my hand is natural colored again! So I'm guessing my laundry is going to be super clean! And my sink was draining slow but now it's draining like a pro since I washed the bottle off in it. So even without doing my laundry yet I say give it a try! ... show more

I love this detergent I’ve used it many many times before but the scent this time for some reason isn’t lasting a long time and sometimes I can’t even smell it but truthfully I think that is might be the washer I’m using but from all the past experiences I would say this is a great detergent but I will give it a four out of five because I’m not sure but if I change laundry washer I’m pretty sure it’ll be a five out of five because this is not my first time using this detergent and I know for a fact it has a great smell and it last for a long time so I really just think it’s on me Also it came on time and it was perfectly fine it was not damaged ... show more

    • Guess what, it’s laundry detergent
You put it in the washing machine with your dirty clothes and end up with clean clothes. It probably won’t help with the white shirt you wore while changing the oil in your car, or with the clothes you wore while butchering a deer this past season. If you have normal person dirty clothes, well then this is normal laundry detergent. A match made in heaven. ... show more

I remember Granny used Arm & Hammer as an additive to her cleaning repertoire and I used it when I became an adult. "Back in the day", you had to use very warm to hot water, though, or A&H would 'crystsllize' and mess up a washing machine (in fact, this detergent was prohibited in many laundrobmats and washaterias!). Now that it is cold water friendly, it's at the top of my list of preferred laundry detergents, for not only does it brighten, but also does something else baking soda is famous for: it freshens. Damp towels, jeans, sneakersk, seasonally stored blankets, bed spreads and clothes...that mildewy, musty odor falls to baking soda's power. Arm & Hammer has always been an excellent whitening agent for clothes, among other uses, and here, at least 75 years later, we find that the old saying, "The more things change, the more they stay the same"!
