After a year and a half of abuse as a diesel mechanic, they're still holding up. I walk on grated metal, concrete, hot asphalt, and rocks on a regular basis. I've worn these 36 hrs straight without a change of socks, and at least once a week was pulling 20+ hr shifts in South Texas during summer, and 12+ on the regular. The original insoles lasted about 8 months but the cheap ones I replaced them with (not Ariat) only lasted 3 months. The rubber soles are also cut up real bad on the edges because the rubber is very soft and not well suited for grated metal (find me a single boot that is). Overall a great boot and I'm probably an Ariat customer for life. If you need a general boot for walking a lot, or hiking these are a great option that won't break the bank. For my kind of abuse though I'd recommend something like the rebar flex soft toe. My coworker has had the same pair for 3 years so that's what I'll be replacing these with. One last note, breaking in time is maybe a day or two. They're a soft leather out of the box, likely oiled to help with the waterproof, but don't let the soft leather fool you, they're incredibly durable, they fit great all day, and weight almost nothing. ... show more

I ordered a pair of these as a new set of hunting boots. These are so comfortable that I’ve started wearing them for more than just hunting. I’ll be ordering a second pair for next season. These are fairly lightweight with sturdy toe protection that I can wear all day without my feet, or back, starting to hurt. I’ve got some serious lower back problems that mean I have to be picky about my shoes so I have enough support to be comfortable, and my boots can’t be too heavy. I’d recommend these to anyone looking for new work, hunting, or daily wear boots. Time will tell on how durable they are, but so far (2.5 months) these have held up great. ... show more

It’s been one month since I received and started wearing these boots. They are very comfortable. They are a medium weight, compared to similar boots. I’m impressed with the durability. I’m in dirt, all day every day. Brush them off and they still look good.

Most comfortable and toughest boots I’ve owned. I work in a lumberyard in all conditions and this is the only boots I’ve found that can hold up to the daily punishment they are put through.

They are very sturdy and offer good foot protection without being a steel toe or composite. They grip very well and keep your feet dry. They are a little bit heavy but they're work boots. They fit great and I would buy them again

Love Ariats, these boots are comfortable and seem to be waterproof as advertised. My only gripe is that (especially when cold) they are a little too noisy on concrete due to the hard sole material. Would be five star if not for the noise.

So far these shoes have greatly outlasted my last pair (different brand). I am incredibly hard on work boots due to the nature of the flooring industry that I work in. My last pair, the toes scuffed and had a hole in toes the first two days of wearing them. I milked the life out of them until my toes were about to pop out and alas, it was time for new work boots. Given the rubber toe covering on these Ariat boots I had high hopes and so far they have delivered ten fold. I expect to get at least a year out of these suckers, maybe more and by the looks of it they will meet my expectations. Totally happy with my purchase and the manufacturers quality! ... show more

This is my second time in 2 years buying this exact boot and the only reason I had to buy a new pair is because I had to move to a EE wide. The old pair, at almost 2 years old, is still in perfect shape. The sole is glued on rather than stitched, and I usually prefer stitched soles, but I don't have any separation on my old pair, at all. IMO, these boots are solidly constructed, and comfy out of the box with minimal break-in required. After about a month, I coat them in mink oil, it darkens them some but protects them well during snowy Detroit winters. And if you're on the fence, the Prime Try Before You Buy program will give you a week to try them before you have to commit to the purchase. That way you don't have to come out of pocket until you know for sure these are the boots for you. The pictures I included are after a couple of weeks of wear. I also threw my favorite mink oil in there in case it helps. And as a side note, the sizing ran a bit small on my last pair so I went up a half size this time. I usually wear a 10 in Timberland and Wolverine boots, but I needed a 10.5 in these boots. But YMMV. ... show more
