Description

Growing up on a working horse farm in Pennsylvania, I was one of eight kids and spent my childhood surrounded by animals – horses, sheep, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats. I have a special memory of sitting in front of the TV in 1973, watching Secretariat win the Kentucky Derby. He went on to win the Triple Crown, setting records that still stand today. Secretariat’s big heart and competitive spirit were the motivations behind naming our company Ariat. Ariat was founded as “The New Breed of Boot.” We were the first to integrate athletic footwear technology into boots for equestrian athletes. Today, our world-class product team builds innovative and award-winning performance products for all types of outdoor and work environments. We are honored to be a part of your story and thank you for being part of ours.

  • Well built.
Size: 10.5 Wide Color: Bruin Brown
A heavy quality boot. Alittle loose around the shin but fits well in the ankles so it’s not an issue for me. I wear a pair of Alpaca wool socks and my feet stay warm and dry in the snow and rain. A very stabile feel. I actually bought a pair of their insoles for $35 not knowing it was the same one that comes in the boot. I did have to buy a pair of shin pads because the breaking in period will bruise up your shin. I put mink oil on them for a conditioner. A bit pricey but I plan to get some time out of them so worth it imo. Time will tell and if they don’t holdup I will be back to say as much. ... show more

  • Great boots
Size: 9.5 Color: Bruin Brown
I was iffy on buying them based off of the reviews but my company gives us a $200 boot allowance so I figured I’d try them. I always oil my boots but I didn’t have a chance to before I had to wear them. My first job in them was a 17.5 hr shift I work on conveyors in quarries And the top of the boot was chafing my shins and the back of my leg they kept pulling down my socks as I walked. I ended up stuffing rags around the top and I was fine after that. 17.5 hrs in mud and water my feet got wet through the boots. Not soaking wet just a little damp just enough I could feel it but that’s also 17.5 hrs constantly standing in mud which is very good considering I wasn’t able to oil them (piling them helps waterproof). But at the end of shift when I got home my feet had a little bit of an ache nothing crazy still better then my Double H boots I had before. So I ended up finally being able to Oil my boots the next day before I left for another job. Once I did that and got my over the calf socks it was game over 100% best boots I’ve owned My second job with them was at a lime stone mine and it was on concrete and again 16 hr shift and if you work on concrete you know it’ll kill your feet. I got home pulled my boots off and again just a little ache and my lower back wasn’t tight at all. But anyhow the point of this review is I work in crazy environments every day and they’ve been great boots I’ve been in mud, on concrete, on cat walks, climbing up and down conveyor structures, and at the end of the day now that they’re finally broken in I have zero pain in my feet I could wear these all day no issues. I ordered a half size down. People were complaining about them being hard to pull your feet out. I like that you don’t want to step in a mud hole and your boot come off or to be walking up a hill or something and slide around in your boot. You should always oil your boots before you wear them it helps relax the leather and water proof them I feel like that was the issue a lot of people were having them being too tight. And I’m sure oil would solved some of them complaints. Also just as a note it’s been in the 30s-40s here and my feet have stayed warm I haven’t had issues with my feet getting cold and that’s the first thing that gets cold on me besides my hands. ... show more

  • Good tradesman boots
Size: 10.5 Color: Bruin Brown
In the trades for 12 years and have tried a lot of boots with my flat feet. These boots are pricey but worth it. I love all the bump guards for the shin and ankle. Also leaves room for toes while being a snug supportive fit at the same time

  • Great Boots by Ariat
Size: 11 Color: Bruin Brown
Some have had bad luck with Ariat boots from what I have read in the reviews . For me I have had zero issues with them . Comfortable and water resistant . I have wore them in ankle deep water for periods of time and feet stayed dry . I work in a manufacturing plant in maintenance . I spend 10+ hours on my feet ranging from concrete floors to working on the property in dirt , mud and so forth . From my personal experience you spend a little more you get more mileage out of your boots . My day can consist of welding and fabrication to plumbing , framing and preventative maintenance of heavy equipment . Good buy and like the toe cap prevents the toe from wearing out faster . ... show more

  • Comfortabish lacks quality materials 9 month life
Size: 8.5 Color: Bruin Brown
The 2 star comes from comfortability of the boot after break in. On the contrary, almost every boot is comfortable after you break them in, so don't get your hopes up. After the rough first month or so to break them in going through blisters and having to put on mole skin daily to save my sore and worn feet during long days work, the boots finally started to be comfortable and form to my feet. I have been buying ariats for about 3 years now as my work boots and have gone through two other pairs of boots and these have been the roughest to break in so far. Ariats have been my favorite out of all the brands I've tried for the price point and quality, yet that doesn't mean they will get a great review. I am a heavy duty diesel field mechanic and go through all types of environments from salt, oil, sun, snow, rain, heat, welding, trees, scrapyards, landfills and the thickest of muds. Followed by wearing them almost daily in the yard and doing hours of side projects. My feet are in these 75+ hours a week. I take great great care in my boots from the moment they arrive by applying the best leather care out there, Obenaufs leather oil followed by their heavy duty leather preservative which helps with water proofing, heat resistance, prevents cracking, and helps with the break in process yet with these it felt like a lifetime. I do this every two weeks or so starting with cleaning the leather throughly then applying. I bend my feet a lot while working and when these products are applied it helps prevent leather cracking a tremendous amount. The midsole where you can see the stiching is a rubber/plastic based material and cracks after a few months. No matter what boot I've had from ariat they all follow the same fate. Don't let the marketing fool you either. Not one of the boots have been waterproof/water resistant even right out of the box. Every day during the wet months I have to put their boots on a dryer otherwise you're gonna be stepping into a stinky swamp the next morning. Using the leather care helps, as it seeps into the seams and cracks, which will help for the small amount of contact with moisture. Get a pair of muckboots if you're going to be in a good amount of mud, snow, or rain as these will still leave you damp or wet after a long day of work in those environments The first issue I had with these is that they are a pain to put on. Even after break in it takes a lot longer compared to my favorite boots of theirs the stump jumpers which has the "heel loops" on both sides of the boot, creating a even pull force on each side of the boot. Having only one pull loop in the heal makes it tremendously harder. Now the pull loop itself is a joke. Within the first month on my left boot the pull loop broke at the bottom LH anchor point as there is a total of four on each boot. A couple months later the same followed for the right boot. Now after 7 months I started having issues with the interior of my boots. My RH side had the inner lining and sole come free from the frame of the boot itself. This would cause the heel and sole to be stuck to my foot when removing and could cost me an extra 1-4 minutes removing my boots. Then once the gruesome cussing battle was done the heal counter would fold down. It would be impossible to put the boot back on in this state as there was a huge obstruction under the heal of the sole. When the heal counter folded down it would result in the heal counter folding underneath the sole and lining once you tried to put it back into place and could cost you an extra 2-7 minutes trying to put the boot back into it's original state. In conclusion I spend a lot of time in my boots and am very rough on them and expect a lot out of them especially for how much time and care I put into them. For this price point and how they performed was very disappointing coming from Ariat. I have been a fan of theirs for their price point and what you get back in return compared to the other brands I've tried. They have a premium price compared to others and I expect the same in return. Typically my boots only last about a year. When spending this much, which is one of the highest prices I've paid, I would expect a lot more out of what I received. I will be giving them another chance as I just purchased the stump jumpers with the boa laces, but if those lack in lifetime, I might be going back to the drawing board looking at other brands which take a higher standard to their quality of materials, sourcing jobs and materials based in the U.S. not just "designed in the U.S.", and looking for brands that offer a better longevity out of a boot for their given price point. ... show more
