With these you get what you pay for. A comfortable western style work boot that can be worn anywhere. I wear them hunting, four wheeling, horseback riding (small ranch), and while working at the shop. Love 'em. Just make sure you follow the size guidelines; for example: If you think you need wide you probably do. The fit is a bit snug, but they break-in quickly and the end result is a boot that fits perfectly instead of something with no support that flops around until your skin is raw. As with all things proper care will allow them to last. I wear them frequently, so I make sure to keep them clean inside and out (I hate a stinky boot as I'm sure you do too.) Might want to pick up an aftermarket insole to have on hand. The stock one wears evenly and better than most, but it was the first thing to go with constant wear (remember I wear them on & off the job.) This isn't a con because most boots I have to replace the insole before I even wear them. In conclusion they look fantastic, constructed with both exceptional craftsmanship and materials, plus they feel good. Wear them with confidence, they won't let you down. ... show more

**UPDATE** Three months in and these boots are done. The inner liner has pulled loose and I actually strained a calf muscle trying to remove the boot. I had to get my foot far enough up the upper to pry the liner off my heel. This just blows my mind to have an Ariat boot fail like this. Very dissatisfied. **. This boot fits and wears great. My three stars is due to the extraordinary effort it takes to put them on. It is very difficult to get the heel past the transition of upper nylon to lower leather. I am worried that I will break the pull straps. Once on the feet they are comfortable and wear very well. They are true to size. Ariat just needs to improve the transition area for ease of getting on the feet. ... show more

    • Glued to My Foot! Not Waterproof

I have worn Ariat boots for the last 6 years and I just started wearing steel toe for my work boots for safety. They are relatively comfortable for steel toe and the fit snug. It seems like there is more padding or insulation in these boots than a standard western boot. That ended up being their demise and my problem. After pressure washing a job the inside of the boot became saturated because they are only waterproof isn’t the areas of leather (not the mesh portion), and after my feet were wet and saturated all day I went to take my boot off and nope.. it was glued to my foot. The inside fabric broke loose from the shell of the boot and my foot was literally trapped in the boot because when I pulled, the guts of the boot moved slightly and wouldn’t let go of my foot. I’ve been wearing them for 5 months which is a vary short timeframe for Ariats to last. I’ll try them one more time but be careful they won’t hold up well to water. ... show more

I've found my brand, every Ariat boot I've even had has been just perfect from the time I put them on to the time I replace them with the next, my pair before this one was just the regular 100$ (at the time) non steel toe ground breaker, they lasted a year and a half with virtually every day wear. Currently as I'm writing this review I'm at the end of a twelve hours shift and my feet aren't achy or anything, Ariats have this magical thing where there is absolutely no break in period so your feet don't kill you for a week and you feel happy about your new boots and don't have to second guess your purchase. If your serious about comfort and need some work boots u can count on for your next paycheck I can garentee you won't be disappointed in these. ... show more

Been doing construction work for a little over 10 years, and I have tried many cheaper boot options ranging from Wolverine, Carolina, Army surplus crap, and so on. None made it longer than maybe a year and a half. These are my second pair of Ariats and I think I'll be sticking with them from now on. I have short but wide feet and Ariat has the size options to accomidate my weird feet. And my last pair got me 2.5 years, this one is going on slightly closer to 3. After the break in period slipons are notorious for, the fit is perfect. Waterproof, tough leather, and the slip-resistant soles are no joke. Great value for mid-tier priced boots. ... show more
