I have been using this dehumidifier for over a week now, and I really like it. 1. It's easy to relocate and transport with the wheels, and I was able to lift it down to the basement with myself due to it's ideal size. 2. I set it on a humidity level and it's running and turning off automatically, and it's too quiet to hear anything from our living room even when I leave the door open. 3. The most important thing is that it not only has a hose, but a build-in pump, so that I can leave it on the floor, while leading the water to our drain opening, that is about 24 inches above the floor. 4. In order to see this machine is working efficiently and properly, I placed another monitor to see the actual humidity percentage, and placed the hose to a container to see how much water it really collect. This product is the best choice to me base on it's value and quality, and I would recommend it. A little background: I am using it in the basement that is a little over 1000 sqfts.

The media could not be loaded. When I moved to East Texas and tried making soap, the usual regular batch I make regularly, failed to cure. In trying to figure out why my soap was failing, someone gave me a hint about humidity, and I've invested in tons of dehumidifiers since then. I make a lot of soap, so it was time for something serious, that I could plug in and forget about. And ta da! I have my answer. So far it's doing the job promised, and I've had no issues (though it's still fairly new at the time of this review) Pros: Quiet operations, which is great for a unit this size. Nice long drain hose (about 239"). The drain plug is much higher off the ground than some others, leaving wiggle room for drain hose placement. Controls are very responsive. User manual is actually useful. Instructions on how to change the water pump (nice that you have the option with things that break often). Looks professional. Set it and forget about it. Cons: Price, but I'm frugal, had a hard time with the price, but in the end, you get what you pay for. So it's not really a con. I'll post an update if anything changes.

I bought this with the pump to eliminate emptying buckets. This one doesn't have a removable bucket, just the pump. I do find that it runs all the time trying to keep up. That has lessened a little recently with colder weather in the Northeast. I suppose it would be better if the unit was more effective and was able to clear the air in my 800sf finished basement faster and remain off for some period of time.

Overpriced junk. Poorly designed humidistat and controller program! Set at 55% and runs until reading 52%. Shuts down for less than 1 minute as the reading creeps up to 58%. Then runs for 3 minutes and reading goes to 52%. Shutdown for less than 1 minute then on again for 3 minutes, etc, etc. The design flaw is the humidity sensor is too close to the cooling elements, so the readings controlling the cycling are not accurate. And it is not quiet by any standards. Total junk. Do not buy.

Works as advertised. The pump feature is great and automatic so far, only had unit for less than two months. Hopefully the pump lasts a couple of years. Considering purchasing a replacement pump just in case, the unit doesn't have a bucket well. The replacement appears to be easy and accessible. So if the pump fails, you can't use it if dependent upon the pump feature. I have it on 24/7 on GPP mode and it self regulates. The humidity in my basement (~600 sq ft) has been at 50% consistently via a separate meter. It appears to be a quality made unit for the price vs the lower cost units.
