I had an old spinning reel that had belonged to my dad - it was one of his favorites, and when he passed away, it was one of the things that came to me. He'd used it for both fresh and saltwater - and it needed some help. I don't know that he ever took it apart, cleaned it and lubricated it it. It took me about an hour since this was the first time I'd done such a thing - but that reel is like brand spanking new now - it casts and retrieves so smoothly - like it just came out of the box. I've got a few more reels to do the same with and I have no doubt they will work just as well, once I am done. ... show more

I used this to tear down and re-lube a reel that was starting to get loose. I thought it was going to need to be replaced but the lube and oil have it working great again. Saved me the price of a new reel the first time I used it.

Rebuilt several old reels and upgraded some new ones. The cleaner cleaned out the old grease effortlessly and completely while the lube made it function silky smooth. Made some 40 year old well used reels feel like new. Wish I could buy the cleaner in a larger size by itself.
