I am hot all day, every day. One of the major reasons I moved from Florida to Alaska was to escape the heat and humidity. However, with extreme cold (Alaska) comes blazing heat inside most businesses here. My office building has windows that do not open, so I am at the whim of the building manager when it comes to heat. When I come in at 7am, it is 77 or 78 degrees on the floor my office is on. This makes me absolutely miserable. Not much I can do about it, since everyone seems to love it, or at least can tolerate it better than I. I tried using a fan for a while, but it seemed to pull in all of the dust and left me feeling sneezy and dry and having itchy, watery eyes all day long. Plus, I had to turn it off every time I answered the phone (I am a paralegal) because even on the lowest setting, it was too loud and it made it sound as though there was wind in the phone. Then I found this little baby. It could not have been easier to set up. I basically just unboxed it and filled it with water. I love that you can add ice cubes to the water tank (which is a bit on the small side, but I usually only have to add more water once a day during an 8 hour shift, mostly to not let it be dry) and that you can actually freeze the filter (which I have not even done yet, because just using this on the lowest fan setting has been amazing). This is essentially a glorified humidifier, which I thought I would hate (again, I left Florida for a reason), but with the inside heat blasting all day and no relief, my skin, sinuses, and eyes always felt super dry, so the addition of some humid air is actually very nice (I have very curly hair that gets super frizzy in wicked humid air, and I have not experienced any issues while using this machine). There are 3 different fan settings, and I have only used the lowest so far as it has been perfectly sufficient for my purposes in my small office. In addition, there are 2 turbo settings that definitely feel colder than just using the fan, but again, I have not felt the need to use them. You can also change the color of the light that is in the tank, which is a nice feature and would be more useful if this were being used in a bedroom, and although I don't necessarily "need" to use it, I do enjoy having the light on in the tank, which you can toggle between colors, or you can set to rotate through the colors. Again, not necessary, but a fine feature. Overall, for $40, I am incredibly pleased. I am the type of person that just gets irrationally angry and cranky when it is too hot (for reference, even at -20 in Anchorage, I never have the heat in my apartment above 70) and I hate the stuffy feeling in my office where I am stuck all day long. This has been an absolute lifesaver, for more reasons than one, so if you're on the fence or don't think it will work for your needs, it absolutely will and you will thank yourself later for buying it! ... show more

This very small machine makes pie in the sky claims that are worthless. The machine holds a very small amount of water that you need to chill and then add ice to. You have to freeze the "filter" inside the fan prior to use. Then, if you sit directly in front of the fan, with all highest settings on and don't move, you can feel cool air for about three to five minutes, after which time, all of the chilled water has warmed up because its hot and its not powerful to overcome that. This would never cool an entire room unless you're talking about a coat closet or powder room and it only lasts, literally, three to five minutes. The machine is noisy and the resevoir is empty in about 30 minutes, certainly not the "up to 8 hours" claimed. Save your money. The product is not garbage, it just doesn't do what it claims. ... show more

This is a nice portable fan where you can put ice water at the bottom and it will blow cooler air on you. Word of advice, when traveling with it in your car, have a water bottle full of water, and do not fill it prior to you driving. What a mess! It tipped over when I made my first turn. I use this fan when I have to take my son to cross country Practice on Saturdays. He runs 9 miles in 2 1/2 hours and I sit in my car and wait for him. My car is like an oven because I live in Miami. This makes it more bearable. I use a power bank as a power supply. definitely wished I would have bought this sooner, would have made my way a lot more comfortable. I am happy with it. The air flow is strong and you can control how strong it is. I bought a different fan that was bigger that was battery operated with the same concept, and it did not compare to the strength of this one. I use this in my office on days when the sun is making it too hot inside. I don't use it as a replacement Air Conditioner, but I find it helps me when my desktop fans aren't making much of a difference. It's all about what you expect of this little machine. It will never cool your entire room or replace an air conditioner. It just cools the area where I am sitting. But let me tell you, it helps so much with my hot flashes and it feels GREAT. The air that comes out is very cold. I find myself having to turn it off or turn it to blow away from me because it gets too cold. It's a bit noisier than a fan, as well. But if you need something to supplement your cooling, or use in the winter when your Air Conditioning has been shut off, but it's a hot day inside..... at your desk or in your office, this is a nice little item that I am very happy with. ... show more

Its an okay mini cooling fan. It will help cool you off only if you have the machine close to you. However, it will not cool off a room. Keep in mind its not a small air conditioner but a new technology fan. Plus you have to follow the exact instructions. Fill with cold water to the max fill line add a few ice cubes and put the small cartridge in the freezer for an hour. The water spills out if you try to move it. I put a small towel underneath it. Like I mentioned before it is just an average new technology fan that works okay cooling you off. It is a little pricy too for what it does. I work in an office full of cold-blooded ladies! It doesn't matter if it's 100*F or 30*F outside, they're always cold!! Myself and 2 others (all of us are women) are always hot and a small fan just wasn't enough anymore. I hate being hot and one day when I actually felt nauseous from being so hot, I had enough. Unfortunately, the ladies who were cold complained enough to the building that they "fixed it" and now it's always hot. So, I decided to buy something to hopefully help. I have a decent sized cubicle but nothing huge, so I didn't need anything that would cool a whole room. This little a/c is amazing! I have it sitting about 2-3ft from me and the cool air is fantastic! I've even added ice cubes to the water which really helps it feel cold! I don't know how well it'd work in a bedroom, but if you have it blowing directly at you, then you'll definitely feel some relief! The little filter that you can freeze didn't seem to really help, it just thawed as soon as the fan was turned on, however, as I mentioned, you can add ice cubes and that makes a big difference. I am so glad I went ahead and tried this little a/c....my other 2 co-workers are now considering buying their own! ... show more
