Got this for my 22 yr old son, tons of electronics in his room, on all the time and it's HOT, not warm, SWEAT HOT! Three fans on all the time, still hot. He has had it since Christmas Day, we live in SC for reference. We have not had a lot of days above 40 and so he hasn't used the AC yet but the fan alone, no ice packs, his room is about 9 degrees cooler than with all those fans before. And he DOES have a thermometer on his equipment to keep an eye on the equipment. I was really glad to see the water reservoir is HUGE! You can use MUCH larger ice packs than the 2 tiny ones they send. I have huge ones that come in packages that need ice, we are going to try. They should keep the water much colder and longer. The water reservoir is on WHEELS!!! How nice! You can just push it to the bathtub, use the shower head and fill it. No lifting! I'm not doing the lifting but YOU might want to know you don't have to carry 8 gallons of water! That was a HUGE bonus for me, you know, if it was for ME. I don't think he is even using water right now, just the fan, the fan is waterless. I am worried about the moisture with all of his gaming stuff but others said that it's not a problem. I'll include this in my future updates. He likes loud fans on at night, drown out my grandkids lol. He said the fan mode is quiet on 1 and 2 settings, you can here it, but its background, setting 3, he said, is loud (fan only, no a/c yet) but he is used to the "noise" and loves it now when he sleeps. I have yet to hear it on 3, will put that in my update in about 6 month's or so. It's a good size. In the pic he has it away from the wall, he's gaming right now. Normally it's pushed up against the wall. Takes up some room but really, not much. A lot less than 3 fans does! Hope this long review helped others!!! I try to include what I look for and don't. If you have questions, ask in the questions section and if I see it and can I help, I will. Will update hopefully in June/July so you know how the air works. Terrible - I bought 2 of these and they stopped working after only 2 uses! They power on but the digital board won't light up nor will the fans spin at all. I contacted Amazon and they referred me to the company's support page. The company responded to me and said they will fix them if I ship the units to them. These are large units - ridiculous how much that would cost me. Save your money and pick a better item. ... show more

    • Does the job - pricey for the quality
It works as intended, however it is pretty inconvenient especially considering the price point: * The water pump isn't able to fully drain the water tank, so you'll always have standing water at the bottom, unless you manually pour it out * You'll need to detach the top half to empty out the tank. the pump is attached to the top half, and will still be submerged even if it can no longer pump water, meaning you'll have to deal with a lot of drippage when removing - not ideal if this is for indoor use. * The water tank is big (which is nice), but there are no included handles, meaning that it is very cumbersome to carry, especially when filled-up. The included castors are not very smooth, so if choosing to roll instead of carry, water will slosh around, and likely spill out. * no handles on the top part either, meaning that even together, it is a little cumbersome to move the unit around (especially filled with water) * The other included water intake option is very small compared to the tank and means that the unit is very annoying to fill up unless you have a hose * fans are loud (which can be a pro or a con) * no humidity sensor (more of a nice-to-have) ... show more

    • Couldn't cool my bedroom better than 2 lousy degrees!
This device is over-rated and doesn't do what it promises at all. After setting it up carefully and making sure I was using it per the instructions (making sure the pump and second tube were submerged, making sure the room had ventilation to prevent a humidity build up which would have prevented the unit from evaporating cool water into the room, adding the ice packs, etc) the first night it only dropped my room from 74 degrees to 73 or 72. That's it. I tested the temp of the water in the tank and it was 63 degrees. So the second night I emptied the water completely and refilled it with water I had brought down to 40-45 degrees in my fridge - lots of water. I added 8 trays of ice cubes a total of 5 ice packs and ran it for another night. It still failed. 72 degrees that's all it could do. I could feel cool air leaving the vents of the unit but at any fan speed it just cannot effect a simple small bedroom. I am returning this for a full refund. ... show more

Absolutely fantastic quality! This has several key features that make it a great investments. Firstly it has a giant 8 gallon water tank which not only aides the huge airflow capacity but aso means I don't have to keep topping it up throughout the day, (also liked that it comes with two ice packs to help keep the water in the resivoir cool). It's on coaster so you can easily move the unit around the desired space or change locations without much effort but the best feature for me using it is that I can operate the unit from an app on my phone so don't have to get up to change settings etc. It does also come with an easy to navigate reote control but love that it has wifi capacibility. Bought primarily to use as an air conditoner but have also been using the humidifier function on it a lot as well so think its a very well designed and built piece of equipment that we've used throughtout the house but also took outside in the height of summer. ... show more

    • Not meant for humid climates
I guess it’s on me for not understanding what a swamp cooler is and how science works. I focused more on the portable AC unit and not having to have a window hose. If you’re in a dry climate, I’d say this would be more ideal. I live in Humid Houston where having the cooler/humidifier on just made the room stuffy and warm. It defeats the purpose of not using the “cooling” feature as I could just purchase a cheaper fan. Despite the humidity, the fan itself is pretty powerful. The 8-gallon water tank on wheels is super convenient for not having to transport a heavy machine around to different rooms - if I were able to use that feature. It has loud white noise on level 3 but level 1 and 2 is not that noticeable. Overall, this did not work for me and this review is for those deciding if they should purchase to consider the climate you’re in. This does not help in already humid environments. ... show more
