Strong fan with 3 different levels and timer. The cooling effect isn’t like an air conditioner, think of this had the fan pushing air through coils with cold water. It makes a difference in my dry hot region. It was cheap, about 80 dollars when I bought it. This cooler is nice. I like the 10.6 gallon tank. It's nice and quiet on low and medium. On high it's not so quiet but it really blast's the air. It comes with 2 remotes which is nice. For $90 it's a good buy. It works fine

I live in Central Texas where is very hot and generally the humidity is very low. This is the perfect place for evaporative coolers. I have worked in shops in the Houston area where humidity is high and they are not as effective. Many houses in the area actually use these to cool the house rather than the new style air-conditioning that most people are used to. I opened up my box, pulled the cooler out as well as the instructions, and read the instructions thoroughly. I was a little disappointed in the instructions in that through the whole book nothing was mentioned, regarding dropping a line in the water tank. It was mentioned to be sure not to run it dry , however. There are two hoses visible on the bottom of the cooler. One is a return line for water and the other is the pick up. The pick up has a little pump on the end of it with the necessary power wire and the pick up tube. It is fastened to the bottom of the cooler, needs to be released and dropped into the tank. I placed water in the tank and let it run on high for approximately 30 minutes, then tested the temperature delta between the outside ambient air and the cool air being blown out of the cooler. There was only a 5° temperature delta. I had expected a little more. This cooler should be used in rooms where you do not want to increase the humidity. Obviously blowing the air over water cools the air and increases your humidity. Not something to use and a gun room. I don't have much hope for the small water bottles to significantly change the water temperature enough to make a noticeable difference. Dumping a bag of ice certainly would if it was worth the effort. I will place this cooler in my shop next to the workbench. It does act as a nice fan and the slight temperature decrease will be welcomed. ... show more

Cools the room down quickly- however the wheel broke,when I put it on. It's plastic what do you expect. I didn't want to replace the whole unit. Just looking for a replacement wheel..

I've been using this evaporative cooler in my room nd tv lounge and it's made a huge difference during hot days. The airflow is really powerful, and with the wide oscillation, it pushes cool air throughout the whole space quickly and evenly. I especially like how fast it cools down the area between the upgraded cooling pads, the strong motor, and the ice packs, you really feel the temperature drop almost immediately. The large water tank lasts for hours without refilling, and the water level indicator makes it easy to know when it's getting low. I also love that I can either pour water in from the top or hook up a hose for continuous filling, which is super convenient. It's also very mobile thanks to the sturdy wheels, and I can easily roll it from my garage to the patio depending on where I need it. I’ve been testing the POWIFY 10.6 Gallon Evaporative Air Cooler in both my garage and on the back patio here in the Southern California heat, and it’s been a real workhorse during hot afternoons. It’s not an air conditioner, but it makes a noticeable difference in comfort—especially when I fill the tank with ice water or use the included ice packs. The breeze it produces is wide and steady, and the 120° oscillation helps cover a good chunk of space. I often work out of my garage, so this has really helped me feel more comfortable! Setup was simple: just add water, plug it in, and use either the touch panel or the remote (nice touch that it comes with a spare). I like that the remote has a locking battery compartment since I have kids around. The unit rolls easily from room to room, and the two lockable wheels keep it stable once it’s in place. At 24 pounds it’s not light, but it feels solid rather than flimsy. The 10.6-gallon tank is generous—enough to run all day without constant refilling, and the timer makes it easy to set and forget. I also appreciate the three speed and mode settings; I usually run it on “auto” so it cycles naturally instead of blowing at one intensity nonstop. Noise level is about what you’d expect from a strong fan: present but not disruptive. This cooler works best in dry climates and well-ventilated areas, so keep in mind it won’t chill a room like AC.
