  • A Good General Purpose Rope
Size: 1/2 50FT
Overall, this is a good general purpose rope. However, I am not sure if I would use it specifically for climbing. I personally use it for tree work on my property, but just for things like controlling, guiding, and lowering large limbs after being cut. Construction wise, it is a well built rope. It has a tight, durable sheath. It's smooth, flexible, and has all the things you would typically want and expect to see from a good quality rope. However, there are some red flags about its certification that make me suspicious that it may not be authentic or at least certified to normal international standards. Then there is the biggest red flag, which is that the rope itself does not have any actual certification tags on it anywhere. Which is an absolute global standard for all certified ropes. However, it of course would be best if you did your own research on all of that. Other than the possibly questionable certification, this is still a good, strong, general purpose rope. In reality, if I had to in an emergency, I personally would have no problem actually climbing with it. It's a great rope overall, I'm glad to have it as part of my gear, and I would recommend it. ... show more

  • Tough, Thick Rope
Size: 1/2 50FT
I like to keep rope and strap material around for both general and emergency purposes. However, a lot of the rope I can find lately either is not strong enough for my liking or is ridiculously expensive. This 50' coil of rope is extremely strong (almost 4,000 lbs capacity) and won't break the bank. The weave is very tight and the material appears to be durable and seems as if it would have a high wear resistance. While I won't be using this for climbing, I am certain it will serve me well in many other areas. A good quality rope at a good price. ... show more

  • Everyone needs a rope around the house.
Size: 1/2 50FT
If you’re like me and always have yard work to do, especially when it comes to tree pruning and limb removal, having a reliable rope is a game-changer. I picked this up for my early fall clean-up, dealing with my wood line where black locust trees like to drop big branches that never quite hit the ground. It’s a bit of a hazard for the kids playing around. Not all polyester ropes are the same—some can be a bit hit or miss in terms of quality. But this one seems solid, both from what I can see and from the little bit of work I’ve done with it so far. • Strong braided rope makes excellent safety line
Size: 1/2 100FT
I ordered this rope because I have been working on my roof lately. I had bought some rope from a discount store and I was not really confident in it. This half inch x100-ft rope is extremely strong easily holds my weight and much more. At 100 ft, I am able to put this rope up all the way over my roof and anchor both ends allowing me to tie off at various points to my climbing harness. Compared to other alternatives, this rope is a great value. I should note that I'm also wearing a climbing helmet. ... show more

  • Substantial rope
Size: 1/2 50FT
My daughter has been asking me to make a rope swing for her, and for that I wanted a sturdy rope that would hold plenty of weight as well as hold up to the elements being outdoors. This rope appears that it will handle both of those requirements. While I don't have any way of testing whether the rope can hold 3968 lbs as claimed, I would say that this is a very substantial rope. Weighing in at 2 lbs 6.8 oz (or just over 1.1 kg) for the entire 50' coil, this rope is over twice the per-foot weight of a 1/2" diamond braid rope from the big orange box that is rated at a 310 lb working load, but the materials used and the construction of the rope impact the strength far more than just the weight of the rope, so it's hard to compare or draw conclusions on the strength of this rope from other ropes. That said, I have no doubt that this would hold far more weight than a rope swing would ever have to carry--easily well into the many hundreds of pounds, and that is good enough for my purposes. ... show more
