  • Light weight, small footprint, and big power!
The media could not be loaded. Regular trolling motors weight too much and take up too much space on my little 12 foot boat (with all my fishing gear and 10 hp on the transom). The picture is a comparison between this brushless motor and the Newport Vessell 55lb thrust motor. The brushless motor has a small lower end that doesn't hit my outboard when they are both on the back of my boat. The brushless has a much great thrust to weight ratio. The brushless weighs 14.5 pounds compared to Newport Vessell's 23.2 pounds which makes a big difference when I ask my sweetie pie to bring me a beer and my trolling motor. The only negatives I see so far is the head unit on the brushless does not seem as durable as other trolling motors largely in part to the tilt handle which gives it a cheap feel. The other issue is the brushless takes power when even in the off position so when you attach a battery expect to get some sparks. Updated (5/15) Finally got it out on the water. Included a picture of the motor mounted on my 12 foot metal boat. On the lowest setting my boat goes 1 mph (which isn't great if you wanted to troll at .5 mph). The top end with my outboard in the water (drag) was 4 mph, probably get 5 mph if I tilt my outboard up. It does make a noticeable noise at the lowest setting. The performance is as good if not better than the motor I replaced. I did rotate the power head so I could use the motor on the front of my boat. You can see the inline breaker I installed so that I could easily turn off the motor without having to disconnect it from the battery. ... show more

  • So far, so good
I purchased this product after sending back three Newport Vessels. They all had problems after a couple uses. Amazon has been a bit of a pain returning the last faulty NV trolling motor. I’ve only used the AQUOS once so far, but it’s already a better fit. The throttle is smooth not jerky. You can troll at any speed appropriate instead of too fast. It’s small and lighter with the same or better thrust. So far it hasn’t shuddered, tripped the breaker, or lost a motor seal. The AQUOS does not come with a circuit breaker so you will need to buy one. I will update this review if anything changes. ... show more

  • Double the run time!
This brushless trolling motor doubled the run time compared to my old 55lb Minn Kota that was 6 years old. Love the variable speed control. More powerful than the old one. Can push my Wellcraft 19 center console at 3.2 mph at full speed. A bit louder than my old motor. But well worth it. I highly recommend this motor. ... show more

  • Not the best for slow trolling speeds
Took it out one time. Here are my pros and cons. Pros - light weight, faster speed than minnkota (i a was getting 3.7 to 3.8 mph in my pond prowler 8 with a fully loaded setup which was getting only 2.9-3.1 mph with a minnkota 55 lbs thrust), tiller handle is easy to pull in and out Cons - the lowest speed setting is too fast compared to minnkotas slowest speed setting (i could only go as slow as 1 mph but with my minnkota, i could go as low as .3 to .5 mph which really helps when I’m bass fishing and just trying to slowly pick apart an area), quality is decent but will have to see how long it lasts Overall, I will not be using this as my trolling motor to fish but i think I’ll try to upgrade the prop to a speed prop and use it as my main motor to get from point a to point b instead of using a gas motor. If i can get around 4 to 4.5 mph with an upgraded prop I’ll be happy to use it as the main motor. ... show more

  • Perfect for all day fishing in current!
I use it for 10 hours slow trolling during a day of fishing. Also for going from point A to point B. At the end of the day, I still have 40% of my 100ah LifePro Battery Power available. I use a u-joint tiller extension to operate the control and steer on my kayak. It is about 50% lighter than a 62 lb thrust Newport Trolling Motor. It's really upped my game and range on the kayak. No need to go past 50% throttle to reach Max speed based on the dynamics of my Old Town Topwater 120 PDL. Max speed is 4.25 mph at 50% of throttle. Do your research and you will come back to this motor for the best value and performance. Love this motor! ... show more

  • Great Trolling Motor!!!
Pushed my 16' Bass Tracker around the lake perfectly!! I would definitely recommend this product to a friend. The motor is quiet and very easy to use! It was more powerful than I was expecting. My boat is far from light weight plus add all the gear and 3 larger men, It was a great day on the lake!

  • Powerful but Noisy
I use it as the main motor on my little 12ft plastic jon boat. It preforms great but is very noisy. It draws on my battery less than the 50lb thrust minkota that I was running and has a lot more push to it even though it is not any faster and may even be slower than the 50lb, it pushes me through the current of the river better and gets me threw stronger currents than the other motor. The speed controls works more like a throttle than a speed selector and neutral is tricky to hit without passing it so it takes some getting used to but once I did, I have come to prefer it that way. I love the adjustable tiller control. I get in spots that require standing for better better view of rocks on the river. This adjustable system allows me to do so without reposition of my shaft depth. The noisy motor is my only complaint and the reason I didn't give a 5 star rating ... show more

  • really performant motor
I bought a brushed version trolling motor previously which delivers my Hobie kayak with 4mph. After half year speed drops to 3mph. After switching to this brushless motor I can easily get to 4.4 mph. I’ll see how long the speed deteriorate. So far so good
