This is my first time using a kick board. I purchased this to strengthen my legs after a knee injury. I like the color and quality and the thickness seems about right. This board allows you to focus just on your legs, so it is exactly as advertised. I have learned a few things since purchasing it, which are not a reflection of this board. First of all, you can't put your hands in the holds and swim with your head up, you have to swim as if your were doing the crawl and take breaths when needed. Second, theses boards are a place to put your arms, but you will sink if you don't kick reasonably hard, i.e., these are "floats". I like it and use it every day.
