Recently, a week of heavy rains left my once clear, healthy pond in a shambles and my fish in distress. My underwater pumps were completely overwhelmed. This air pump has greatly improved the quality of my pond water. My fish are no longer swimming at the surface. Happily none of my fish succumbed thanks to this air pump. It also broke up the unsightly floating pond scum so the water is once again clear. Installation was quick and easy, but if you have raccoons in the area you will need to protect the above ground pump. I built a simple box from scrap cedar fence boards and attached it to the deck. I highly recommend this air pump. In fact, it works so well I have pulled out the underwater fountain style pumps which needed almost daily cleaning.

Our pond is nearly 1000 gallons, but we wanted a good amount of aeration to help the solids break down and keep the algae at bay. The listing claims it’s for 2000 gallons, and it’s perfect for our smaller pond. The four aeration balls that are included can be placed in various locations around your pond but I just put ours together to minimize exposure to the geese that think they are chew toys…. I’ve no way to measure the volume outflow but it does make plenty of bubbles without alarming the occupants. Obviously this pump makes noise, it’s a pump, but it’s not as obnoxious as a tire pump. Volume is probably the key reason for that. The problem with this aerator is that it cannot be left out in the elements. That makes it tough for us to continue using it because it’s difficult to store it in a container and then deal with cords everywhere. It hasn’t proven to be at all practical in our situation.

This is working great on my little pond. I can't believe the difference that it has made in water clarity in less than 12 hours. I do keep it in an outdoor/waterproof box to avoid any rain or snow. The noise is very low, and the power is great. IMO if you are starting a pond, get an aerator like this before worrying about any pump filtration system. I'm blown away at how effective it is.

I purchased this to replace the two units I had running air to my indoor aquarium. Upon opening the box I was rather impressed with what I saw. It was smaller than I expected which is a good thing, I didn't want a large bulky unit. It has an adjustable flow which neither of my other ones had. It comes with two sets of long black tubing, two clear check valves, two air filters, and two rather large air stones. I ended up using one air stone and feeding the other tube under a piece of driftwood in the tank. The air stones are also heavy enough to easily sink the line to the bottom. At first I was shocked by the quietness of the unit until I realized how little air it was actually pushing out; even on full power. It was still enough to support my tank so I was happy, but in no way would I see this fit for any sort of outdoor pond. After about an hour of use I noticed the unit starting to get really loud, which at first was concerning. Upon investigation I realized that it was also pumping A LOT more air. Maybe the motor needed to run a bit to free things up but it works better over time. Upon turning the dial down it quieted down again, and provided plenty of air. Overall I am satisfied with this air pump, it ended up working our exactly as I hoped. I can definitely see this being used in a small pond, just note you are going to have to have waterproof storage if you intend on using this outside. As for longevity, I will update this review if anything changes. I am hoping to get a couple years out of this thing. I definitely recommend this pump.

I'm having to use a makeshift filtration system and it looked like my fish were in distress. Hopefully, the oxygen that this AquaMiracle aerator will provide will keep the evil fish reaper away. It was easy to assemble all the parts. There were no flow arrows on the check valves, but just blowing through it I was able to determine the right installation. I ended up installing the pump above the surface of the pond, so I removed the check valves. Plenty of hose available, but I just cut off what was needed and put the rest in the box with the check valves and spare filters. The fish were a little skittish when I first turned it on, but they quickly settled down and accepted the fine bubbles. They are exactly that, fine bubbles. I was able to backoff about halfway to get the right aeration for my 300-gallon koi pond. It really appears to be a quality product.
