I was using a smaller version of this same brand. It worked for years, at least 5 probably more. I bought this version as my tank was really too big for that smaller one I had been using and this one you can control the flow of bubbles. It comes with ample tubing but I just connected it to my existing tubing and plugged it in. Its actually quieter than my old model and it in the room where I sleep. Little large but works better than any whisper pump. I have used whisper pumps for a long time but they always quit working within a year of usage but this pump is still kicking. I have divided the 2 air holes into 4. And use it on a 20 gallon. Very satisfied.

Size: Up to 1500 Gallon
This kit comes complete with everything you need to properly aerate your small to medium size pond. I can compare this to a similar size aeration kit I own and use from a name brand company. My current aerator produces over 2.5 times the air output of this unit. The AquaMiracle pump is much, much quieter as you might expect. It has a couple features that my current aerator doesn't. The air flow can be controlled at the pump and it includes a manifold where you can further control each line. The kit includes check valves to prevent a backflow situation where the water is drawn back to the pump. The air stones are heavy enough to keep them at the bottom but you will still need to bury or weigh down the air lines that will want to float. The air stream is reasonable but I never would want to use the controls to reduce the flow. I like that it is quiet but would have preferred more airflow. This pump, like my current air pump, is not water resistant and must be kept out of the elements. For me that is not a problem but wish manufacturers would make a unit is waterproof around this price point. These aerators can work year round to keep your fish pond properly aerated and the water movement caused by the air flow helps keep an area of the pond open to facilitate air exchange necessary for a healthy fish environment. Overall, I liked that the pump was extraordinarily quiet but for about the same list price would prefer significantly more air volume. ... show more
