  • a high quality water filter
This was purchased as a replacement for the AquaBliss SF400. Let me explain that the SF400 has a ultra-smooth exterior, and I ended up returning it because the surface was so slippery and awkward I just couldn't open it. Perhaps it was defective, I don't know, but I wanted nothing more to do with the SF400. The exterior of the SF220 is not quite as pretty as the SF400, but it is a lot more practical. The raised nubs provide enough grip that opening it was not an issue. Replacing filters in the future should be a breeze. The water filter quality seems high, and certainly meets our needs. We're very happy with the SF220. ... show more

  • This shower filter is easy to install and improves water quality, but it may have some minor issues
This shower filter is easy to install and improves water quality, reducing chlorine smell and helping with dry skin and hair. It also works well with hard water and has cost-effective replacement filters. However, it may require tools and strength for installation, and there have been occasional leaking issues. The filter internal seals may be defective, and filter replacement may be challenging for some. Additionally, it is not compatible with certain showerheads, and the interior coating may flake off over time. There is also no clear indicator for filter replacement. ... show more

  • Effective
Seems to have reduced the chlorine smell from our showers and the water is not drying out our skin and hair as much since we installed. Installation was very easy. It does not reduce the water pressure at all.

  • Compared Aquabliss to Aquasana 4100...here's what I found
Hello, Fellow Shower Shoppers, I just moved and was trying to replace my beloved TerraSpa shower filter from years ago, to get the nasty chlorine out of my life (I use a PUR filter on my drinking water). Apparently TerraSpa is no more, so the search started all over. After reading a lot of reviews and ratings (on and off of Amazon) on these two products, Aquabliss and Aquasana, I ordered both and installed both, one in each bathroom shower, and compared. Here's what I found in my personal experience and preferences. THE UNITS Aquasana is large visually, and about 3 pounds, so it's hefty. The Aquabliss is about half that at 1.6 pounds and considerably shorter and less visually intrusive. They both use great multi-stage filtration, but the real work horse in both is the KDF-55. Aquabliss adds calcium sulfite and activated carbon on top of that, while Aquasana employs coconut carbon as their added "secret sauce." INSTALLATION They both require Teflon tape (super easy) for all threads, like all shower attachments do. You will not need a wrench for the Aquabliss as it hand tightens. You WILL need a wrench for the Aquasana. You will need to flush both of them to get rid of the excess carbon (the gunky black stuff). I would flush any filter like this for about 2 minutes on cold, then at least 2 minutes on hot, and do the shut off/turn on with the water at least three times as it is the initial rush of water that needs to be clear before use. I found that one big difference in design is that you can use any shower head you like with the Aquabliss as it does not affect your choice due to its straight design. The Aquasana on the other hand, comes with its own shower head, which while nice and adjustable, is non-negotiable. I tried using my old Moen shower head on the Aquasana, but the design won't allow for it. If this matters to you, that might be a deal breaker right away. EFFECTIVENESS As far as chlorine smells goes, they are similar in their reduction, but to my ridiculously sensitive nose, the Aquabliss seemed to be fainter, and a bit cleaner smelling. I then showered with both, same shampoos/soaps, same temps, and again, very close water feel. As we all should know by now, those pool chlorine tests and strip tests are a bit useless for shower filters, so I wasn't even going to waste my time (and yours) going there. So, here's what I decided. Since the feels are similar, and the materials are both top notch, but the Aquabliss smells better TO ME, it comes down to cost, ease of installation, and flexibility of shower heads. Replacement filters for Aquasana cost more than the original unit at $52 here. Plus, you are replacing pretty much the ENTIRE base of the unit. Aquabliss costs just $15 and you are only replacing the inside filter. Aquabliss is the winner, at least for my needs. And after a month using it, I upped my review from 4 to 5 stars. :) Hope this helps you all figure out your choices a little better. UPDATE 3/22/19 Just changed the filter, so it lasted about 6 months. Not bad considering the high amount of chlorine we have here! I've also added a pic of my hair because taking the chlorine out has helped it become a little thicker and healthier. Skin seems less dry and less itchy as well. Awesome. ... show more

  • Totally Shocked
In Nevada we have extremely hard water. I moved from Maryland where I didn't have to think about the water. I noticed rashes and dry splotches on my leg and arms after moving. My face and body was ALWAYS extremely dry. I had to buy stock in lotion companies as I was going through lotion and creams like crazy. (lol) I just happened to mention to my son about the skin problems I was having and how I wished I could install a water softening system in a rented condo and he nonchalantly said "why don't you get a filter for your shower?" I had no idea that they even made shower filters! (Thank God for my son!) After much research, I found this filter and it has saved me. It was easy to install and my skin and feet are softer. Please be sure and rinse the filter first and after you install it, run the water through your shower. Let it sit for a couple of hours and turn on the shower again. I noticed the dark water went away after running the shower, waiting and running it again. The next morning the water was clear and much softer. Even on my shower doors, I don't have the hard water build up or stains anymore. Best investment I could have made and recommend it highly. I'm stocking up on filters now! ... show more

  • Love It!
Easy to install. Just have to have an extra piece to prevent leakage. Connected my handheld shower nozzle to it and it works like a dream.

You need to tighten quite a bit but water quality is worth the effort.
