I wasn’t expecting this kind of build quality at this price point. The AQQA Multifunctional Electric Gravel Vacuum feels solid the second you take it out of the box—no cheap plastic, no loose parts, and the motor has real strength behind it. I used it last night on my 10-gallon tank, and it pulled debris out of the gravel better than any manual siphon I’ve ever used. The only thing to be aware of is the size: in a 10-gallon tank, the collection bag attachment takes up more space than you’d expect. It works perfectly, but you do have to pay attention to how you angle it so the shower bag doesn’t tip over the rim while you’re moving around. Not a flaw, just a matter of tank size vs. tool size. Once you get used to the maneuvering, this thing is a beast. Strong suction, multiple attachments, easy assembly, and the whole unit feels like it’s built to last. I’d absolutely buy it again. Highly recommend — especially if you’re tired of flimsy gravel vacs. This one’s the real deal.

**Updated** even though I had my return time pass, the seller sent me a replacement for my faulty tank cleaner. I have now tested it in all 3 of my tanks and its working fantastic! I will update with video or pictures later after some time passes. Bought this 3 mo ago and have only used this only a handful of times since I have others I use with more ease. The stick is really long and the base doesn't allow for full function. The motor gives out and it stops suctioning as much, literally slow, too slow to remove any debris. Purchase something else, this item just isn't good enough for the money. Manual one would of been better and I could of had more than a couple for the price of this item.

The instructions are vague and incomplete - they do tell you how to assemble the pump, sort of, but have varying indications of what the attachments are to be used for and no directions as to how to actually use the product to clean the tank. The duckbill scraper is useless. The brush works like you would expect a brush to work, but the recirculating mode just recirculates dirty water into the tank. The filter mesh bag doesn't actually trap the debris. And due to the design of the pump, you have to repeatedly twist the recirculating attachment to avoid pumping water out of the tank. And when you get the attachments near the bottom of the tank you submerge the outlet of the recirculator. I tried to use the gravel vacuum but the suction is far too strong so it just sucks up gravel to clog the filter, and just recirculates the dirty water anyway. Using the tank drain hose instead of the recirculator drains the tank far too quickly - the tank would be empty long before you could clean all the gravel. It's also built poorly - when I tried to pull the recirculator tube out of the top of the pump, which is a friction fit instead of a threaded connection, the pump housing came apart, as it just snaps together. Used it once and am returning.

The idea is great and might benefit larger tanks but I have 5-20 gallons and this felt awkward and large to use without making a mess. The shower with filter was really cool but the force that the recycled water comes out at stirs up the debris youre trying to siphon. The machine itself works great though and is very strong with many helpful attachments. Picture is the pump set up against my now cloudy 20 gallon lol I dont think i could use this in my 10 or 5 as it must be fully submersed.

So as a hobbyist I started with 1 tank and now have 7. Water changes and cleaning can be a pain we all know. But this AQQA Gravel Cleaner system is AMAZING! FAVORITE Aspects: 1. I have a 55 gallon on a stand I am very short person (not that strong either) this gravel cleaner is ELECTRIC and you don't spend time manually getting it started or having to take it a part to get it to work. 2. So for my large tank the only way to clean it is to pump into 5 gallon bucket then dump it, so with the gravel cleaner it can be used with the pump base with suction cups so I can stick it to th bottom of the bucket and it will pump the water out instead of lugging the bucket around!! Saves my back (seriously was considering getting rid of my big tank bc of the physical labor involved). Also attachment yubes make it long enough for me to clean standing on the floor instead of a chair. 3. What is even better is the hose is long so I can fill the 5 gallon bucket up add conditioner and pump it back into the tank without having to move the bucket. So easy. And I timed it to pump the 5 gallon bucket of water into the tank less than 2 minutes. I also tied pumping out a 10 gallon tank I was taking down and it took under 3 minutes! TIME SAVER! 4. I have sand in 6 of my tanks the sand vacuum picks up the yuck without picking up all my sand. 5. I also breed for profit snails and shrimp and with the filter pads in this particular piece I am able to save baby snails and shrimp. MONEY SAVER! 6. Another awesome thing with that attachment is all you do when your done is rinse rhe pads and use again. 7. The shower attachment with sock allows me to clean my shrimp tanks and reuse the water and removes the waste. Shrimp are sensitive and need small water changes. 8. The other attachment are great as well. The brush head helps to clean rocks (1 tank with gravel) the water intake cleaner can also be use to scrape algae of glass as well. THE ABSOLUTE BEST PART IS THE SUCTION POWER AND TIME SAVING. I am no longer spending half the day to clean all my tanks. Now can be done in under 2.5 hours even adding water back to tanks. So for the price it is amazing. I have spent 3 times this amount over the past year (bc I was being cheap) buying manual start vacuums. So worth the money. It also includes a booklet on how to put together with a nice storage box once it dries. I recommend this product 100%.

It does sort of work, but I stopped using it as it made a huge watery mess and is unwieldy. Some design flaws: 1. The power switch is too far from the handle. When water is squirting all over, you have to reach to turn it off. I cut down the handle from 3ft to 2ft, but still an issue. 2. The handle is too long, while the drain hose is too short. So you are holding it high, and the drain hose does not reach the bucket 3. When using the water return attachment, the holes are really small so clogs up quickly with sand and debris. Eventually clogging the motor and you have to dismantle to clean. 4. The motor is too powerful and jets water, while not allowing you to clean efficiently 5. Does not sift sand effectively 6. The cloth bag does not stay attached, flies off with the water pressure.

I been using this same pump heavily since January of 2023 and its still going strong. I even taped up some extra tubing for it to run extra distance, so its pumping capability is powerful. I just ordered an extra one for backup.
