  • Compatible directly with SmartThings with proper install
Perfectly fits my need for a simple tabletop switch for lamps with smart bulbs or on smart plugs w/o invoking voice commands. As Zigbee device does need a hub but Smatthings v3 worked very well with correct Edge driver. Either the Veon or Obmaz worked fine. I did not need a separate Aqara hub. Enroll your SmartThings hub in to one of these drivers before attempting switch inclusion. BTW seems this mini switch is most often classed as a remote. Linking is a little tricky I think because the switch goes to sleep so quickly that linking is interrupted. To link push and hold the SIDE button for 3 sec to get flashing LED. Now, press same button momentarily (quick push and release} every 30 or so sec to keep awake. This process really helps smoother inclusion. I have two switches and really like the. ... show more

  • Does work with HomeAssistant
I almost had to return this but I did eventually get it working directly with HomeAssistant Yellow's zigbee radio (no Aqara hub). Getting it to pair and recognize the device was a little bit of a pain but once I had it paired with the ZHA integration, I found a recipe Jeremy Fisher made on the HomeAssistant forums that made it easy to link to other entities so then I can easily configure what single, double, and long presses of the button does and make it perform complex actions with multiple different lights made by different manufacturers. Now hopefully the battery ends up lasting a long time. ... show more

  • Works well with Home Assistant
I picked one of these up for my kid so that I could place it in at a kid-friendly height for toggling lights in a room. It works great and my kid loves it. It took me a couple of tries to get it working with Home Assistant using the Zigbee2MQTT integration, but once I did it's been solid. Not sure what happened but on the first pairing attempt it seemed to pair just fine but didn't appear to have any useable entities in Home Assistant, after deleting it and trying again it worked showed the different state entities and I was able to figure out how to assign it to some routines. One thing I noticed is that if my kid presses it repeatedly over and over, the lights will stop toggling for a while, but after we wait a bit without pressing it again they'll start working with the button again. I think this is too much of edge case and also haven't gone down the rabbit hole to find if it's the fault of the button itself, Home Assistant, or the smart bulbs' hub that causes the "rate limit" like behavior. When used "normally" for toggling lights on/off as needed it's worked fine. ... show more

  • Works as expected - good deal for the money
Since I already had an Aqara hub in my camera, I decided to try this button. I wanted this as an action button for HomeKit, so I first needed to set it up in their app and bind it to the hub. It originally showed up under the camera, but I was able to change the room in HomeKit for the button, and then it showed up as its own icon. My only complaint - was that it had a built-in magnet rather than just the sticker. They give you a replacement one, but if you stick to the wall, you must tear it off each time you need to change the battery. ... show more

  • Works great with Hubitat
I have three rules set up with this button, a single press, double press, and long press. No issues so far with the button with my Hubitat.

  • Works with SmartThings
The device works with SmartThings it's just a pain to do. All of the KBs written are for the old SmartThings; however, I believe the solution that got mine working was the following drivers by searching Google for "Smartthings Channel obmaz" -> the first thing that shows up should be his GitHub -> From within Github you will see a URL halfway down the page that states "You can enroll the channel and install edge drivers by using invitation URL" -> From here you click the Available Drivers Icon -> wait a minute or so for the page to load -> Click Install the driver titled "zigbee-aqara-button" -> This is where the unknown nightmare of pairing starts... I believe the issue is first you need to wait a few minutes for the driver to load to your SmartThings. From the Smart Things app click the Plus button, Click Add Device, Click Searching for Devices -> From here, hold down the tiny button at the top for roughly 3 seconds the light will flash blue then let go of the tiny button, and every one thousand and one press the button and promptly let go and repeat until the device shows up. If the searching for devices times out, go back to the room where you started to add the device and make sure that the device didn't just show up. I hope this helps! Note: If you continue holding down the tiny button for too long, you will just keep resetting the device versus every one second keeping the device alive. Also, make sure that you are close to the SmartThings Hub at least 15 feet from it, and are connected to the same Wifi Network as the hub! ... show more

  • A Herculean Task to Activate: Approach with Caution
This thing has pushed my patience to the very brink. I would strongly advise against buying this product unless you possess some specialised tool to remove the stubborn plastic film that's necessary to activate the device. This film clings to the device like a vice, and I struggled immensely to remove it. The design is, in a word, unforgiving. The plastic film is embedded so deep and so firmly that when I finally managed to pull it off, a piece of it remained lodged underneath, effectively locking the device. Despite my best efforts, this steadfast piece refused to budge. Out of desperation, I attempted to safely break open the device, handling everything meticulously, yet it stubbornly refused to function. It won't power up, seemingly held hostage by the remaining piece of plastic film. To add to my frustrations, it appears as though some mischievous individual in the production office decided to use a plastic film with the tenacity of a ballistic shield. It's a genuine challenge to remove without jeopardizing the device's integrity, as applying too much force can cause irreparable damage. In conclusion, while it may seem promising, the infuriating plastic film and the risk of damaging the device while trying to remove it severely taint the overall user experience. Approach with caution, and preferably, an arsenal of specialised tools. ... show more
