    • Versatile Smart Lighting That Does More Than Just Look Good

I originally bought the Aqara LED Strip T1 for accent lighting, but it's become one of the most useful smart home additions I've made. Setup was straightforward, and the strip integrated seamlessly with both the Aqara app and Apple HomeKit. The colors are vibrant, the tunable white looks great, and the RGBIC effects are smooth and highly customizable. I especially appreciate being able to create automations in HomeKit while still taking advantage of the additional features available through the Aqara ecosystem. What I didn't expect was how practical it would be. I've installed these strips in several darker areas of my house and have them automatically switch to a very dim red light at night using motion sensors. It provides just enough light for me to safely walk through the house without turning on overhead lights or waking my wife. It's much easier on the eyes than bright white lighting and does a great job of preserving night vision. The strip itself feels well-made, can be cut to fit your space, and has been completely reliable since installation. The automation has worked consistently, and the responsiveness through both Aqara and HomeKit has been excellent. If you're already invested in either the Aqara or Apple HomeKit ecosystem, this LED strip is an easy recommendation. It looks fantastic for accent lighting, but it's the thoughtful automation features that have made it one of my favorite smart home devices. I like the lights. I think they work great with the Aqara App and hubs. I think the light strip is on the expensive side. The quality is there. The brightness is there. The colors are there. I just think the Govee lights come it at a cheaper price and they would work with my Google Home app. If the light strip is a repeater or has some other feature that I am missing, that would be great to know. I had to buy 3 light extensions for my pantry application so that made it even more expensive. I should have considered a slightly different application like a place it could be seen more often than just occasionally opening and closing the pantry door. ... show more

This light strip is awesome. Super easy to install and pairs up with the Aqara app in seconds. I have it set to backlight my computer monitors and automatically turn on when I enter my office. So damn cool. Highly recommend.

I love Aqara products! This isn’t one of them. I believe, that an LED strip is an item that all smart home companies feel like they have to have to be relevant and I disagree with this. If you are an Apple Home enthusiast such as myself you find that Aqara is second to none when it comes to door contact sensors, smart plugs, motion sensors and of course, my favorites, the FP1 and FP2 presence detection devices. The T1 LED strip, not so much. Sadly, I am a Phillips Hue fan boy that wants to jump to Govee but shy about committing. I figured I’d give these a try since I love other Aqara devices and these are way cheaper. I will tell you what made these a no for me, despite more LEDs per strip compared to the basic hue strip. The whites are disappointingly dim on the Aqara compared to the hue. If you like bright color, the Aqara beats the hue. However, I’m also not a child so the strobing disco effects, something Hue doesn’t even offer are novelty at best. Adaptive lighting is an Apple Home option that can be applied to certain products that are compatible. Both the Aqara and Hue LED strips check this box which is another reason why I chose to try the T1 and yet, another miss. The Aqara T1 is hardly adaptive, there are two light settings that it will change to based on the time of day. Cold light for during the day and warm white for night, that’s it. Hue, on the other hand, will adjust the variation from cold white to warm with brightness levels incrementally as the day transitions to night in a way that just feels natural and not cheap like the Aqara T1. So yeah, skip this. Hue, while more expensive, is the superior LED strip. Also, hue is hard to beat when the ecosystem is so much more when it comes to lighting. ... show more

    • I like aquara products but this one tape doesn’t stick very well

The 3M tape doesn’t stick so it fell down after a couple weeks so I don’t use it anymore. Aqura reached out to me, I didn’t contact them, And offered a replacement. I have other aqura products, and will purchase from this company again, just because of their customer service.

I use it with aqara hub e1 and I have also setup Home Assistant to control it via automations! Connects easily to the hub. Looks clean and classy. I wanted a light strip along the side of my basement stairs that would be motion activated from either the top or the bottom of the stairs.     • It keeps failing.

This is the second time I had to buy this as it keeps failing. The first time it failed, Aqara did send a replacement, but instead of wasting my time I am just going to order it. The entire strip works with an all white color, however, only the beginning strip works with color/effects.
