The Aqara door/window sensors are a compact solution for sensing open/close of almost anything around you house. Easily paired with Home Assistant Zigbee integration via an Zigbee adapter. Presently trying to 3D print adapter for dumb deadbolt to indicate locked and secure. Good value for the money.

I’m fairly impressed with these little things. I live in MN and it gets pretty cold up here. I installed these into a water tight box and mounted them to my fence gates. I’ve got the hun set up to turn on a red light and send me a message if my gates been open for more than 5 min. It’s works great they have been out for about a year and a half now through rain snow and the summer heat and have kept working. Battery life is fine since I still haven’t had to change them. So I have the m1 hub and my furthers gate is maybe 80ft away and through a few walls but still gets usable reception. Best part is they are zigbee so it keeps them off the WiFi and cluttering it up. ... show more

These are perfect for setting up automations in HomeKit. I have a bunch of lights setup now to turn on when doors are open at night. Most importantly I needed this on our refrigerator as my wife has a tendency to not push it closed. You do need an Aqara hub and the pairing process to Aqara hub and then HomeKit can be quite annoying. It’s a one-time issue so not even a problem enough to knock this review down a star. ... show more

This is a great product if you just need to know when your doors/windows open and close. It sucks that you have to have the hub to be able to use it but it works good. You can set different sounds for different doors/windows and also you can set the volume to be different on each. I have it linked to my Apple home. And you can set it up to send you alerts to your phone. Which is nice especially if you have someone go check on your pets. It will send you alerts letting you know when they first go in and then again when they leave. ... show more

These are great sensors really. They respond incredible fast, easy setup and great integration with Apples HomeKit. Look, you really can’t beat the price and performance of these Aqara devices. My one issue (which was annoying but I resolved) was false detection in HomeKit. It would say the door was open even though it was closed. If I closed out the HomeKit app and re opened it would update and say it was closed. I reset the device in the Aqara app and I haven’t had the issue since. It will instantly update in real time as I open and close the door. Just a heads up, your WiFi system may interfere with these devices. I suggest running your 2.4ghz network in channels 1 & 6 only. If you are using channel 11 I would suggest turning that off. ... show more
