    • Fantastic Dehumidifier
One of the best dehumidifiers out there, in my opinion. I bought this to control humidity in my music room which is located above my garage. I live in the South and we have terrible humidity especially during the summer. As most musicians know, keeping guitars, drums, violins, etc. at relatively constant humidity is very important. This does the trick and has kept the humidity in this room at around the 45% range with little fluctuation. Before I installed it, I was seeing humidity peak as high as 65% in this room. It does require a way to drain the condensation so you have to have the ability to run a condensation line to the outside. I did mine by having the humidifier drain into an automatic pump that then pumps the condensation through a hose to the same drain my HVAC system uses. It was easy to do and efficient. It is not exceptionally loud, pretty much the same as any AC unit, so you would need to turn it off if you planned to do any music recording. I don't record for anything important, so it doesn't concern me. Also, it came with two washable air filters so even that is easy and simple. Excellent choice for the DIY guy. ... show more

I installed the unit in an insulated/sealed crawlspace (1700 sq.ft.) with humidity levels around 80% or higher. Easy to setup, and humidity levels consistently around 45% now. I used the included duct collars to run 10” flex duct to increase circulation. I purchased AprilAire because the unit was going under the master bedroom and I wanted a quiet unit. It is very quiet. I used a washing machine drip pan, a quality condensate pump, and the risers included to complete the install. Everything works great together. I have a Bluetooth humidity/temp. monitor in the crawlspace that I use to monitor humidity. After two months I am pleased. ... show more

    • Simple installation
I purchased this to replace the previous unit that died after 8 years. Works great, even though it might be bit of overkill in terms of capacity. I chose it as the ductwork connections were identical to the old unit. Since I was replacing an April Aire unit, the duct configuration needed no changes, nor did the plumbing. The electrical connections were the same, so I simply sandwiched the wires between 2 layers of blue tape, pulled then out of the old connector and inserted them into the connector on the new unit - no mixup, no worrying about crossing wires. From opening the box until turning it on I spent less than 40 minutes. Literally anyone who can turn a screwdriver can do this. ... show more

    • This unit lives up to the hype
I have had this unit installed for a full year now. CrawlSpace-DYI was great to work with. Shipping was faster than expected too. I had correspondence with the tech on a question about installation and their response was quick, friendly and comprehensive. Now, for the unit itself. Oh my! This thing has changed the way the entire house feels. I was hoping for the dramatic difference and I have not been disappointed. I have a two-story, 2400 sq ft home and the unit is in the basement laundry/utility room. Once I fired it up I found that I could hear it up on the first floor as it ran. On the advice of several posts I choose to install ducting on the output and ducted into the adjoining room in the basement. That really muted the whine from the E080 but did not cut it completely. I can live with the reduction though, especially with the significant upgrade I got in my environment. ... show more

This is an exceptional dehumidifier that has far out performed my expectations. The EO80 was integrated with the1st floor HVAC equipment located on the 2nd floor in a large conditioned utility room. The HVAC units main return (18") comes through the floor and over the top of the furnace and air handler. With a little studying of the well written installation instructions the integration went well. I used metal 90 degree turns for connection coming into the EO80 and into the HVAC return. I took the incoming air from the main return by using a 3' length of 18" metal duct with a 10" take off. In the approximately 2 weeks it has been running the humidity on the first floor has dropped from the high 60s to the mid 50s. The unit is far quieter than I was expecting. The big surprise is the utility room's humidity has also dropped as well as my wood shop next to the utility room. The wood shop and the rest of the 2nd floor are conditioned by a dedicated upstairs HVAC unit. I do not know what the impact will be on my utility bill since both the HVAC blower and dehumidifier are running constantly at this point but I have reduced the temperature of both the upstairs and downstairs HVAC units and the cabinet doors don't stick, the air feels less "sticky' and we are very comfortable. We still may need another unit on the 2nd floor but for right now we couldn't be happier. ... show more

Prompt shipment, product as described, well packed. Installation and operation as expected, I am not using optional features just out of the box for room dehumidification in my basement. The seller/equipment is great. The Amazon delivery driver delivered them upside down and on their side despite the multiple labels all over the boxes, if you know this equipment you know that it can’t be like that due to the compressors inside the equipment.

Packing strap to secure during shipment was melted into the compressor sealant. A poor factory QA process. Working well, quickly removing moisture from new home. Dropped humidity % readings from 60 to 45.
