I had a little trouble installing the updated software (took almost 24 hours). I thought something was wrong and I wouldn't be able to install the latest version of macOS but I looked up some troubleshooting and found out it just takes a long time to install.     • Great for the basics, just bring a charger with you
For the price and shipping, this is a good buy. I am trying to get out of debt and am not looking to pay full price at Apple right now. But, you do kind of need a laptop these days for basic things like taxes, zoom meetings, documents, etc. This accomplishes that. The pros: -The physical appearance of the laptop is brand new. It looks better than my old MacBook pro that I kept in perfect condition. There were no dents, scratches, or marks. -It is shipped in a fitted and protected box inside a larger, standard Amazon box. It was shipped for free and arrived within the window it said it would. -The MagSafe charger is included and works. -The screen functions perfectly and the keyboard is clean and fully functional. -It comes as if it is a new laptop so you can go through the standard setup process as if it was new. I was also able to update to the latest version of Monterey OS without issues. -All of the listed ports are accurate and fully functional. -I can connect to WiFi and/or ethernet with an adapter easily For the price I paid, I think this laptop is worth it as long as you just need the basics and do not expect it to last for years. The cons: -It is an older laptop and is a little slower than buying the latest MacBook Air. That was anticipated though. -The biggest con is probably the laptop battery. Once this laptop hits 60% battery, it will just turn off. The charge also fades much faster than it is supposed to. So, just be prepared to have it plugged in all the time. It comes with the MagSafe charger, so unless you are looking to work in really remote locations or use it on an airplane, it is not that big of an inconvenience. I use it at coffee shops regularly and just make sure I sit by a power outlet. -When I updated it to Monterey, I did notice that it asked me about other users on the laptop. This is standard when updating the OS, but it may indicate there is another user account on the laptop. I have since removed it, but just be aware of this as it could be a security risk. -I would prefer if the return/refund window was longer than 90 days. For technology, it really should be one year. That said, you do at least get the full refund if you decide to return it or encounter issues during that 90 days. ... show more

There were a few minor scratches and marks on the edges, but otherwise everything I hoped for in a refurbished MacBook. It has been functioning great!

I use a Mac in my work and I love it so I decided to buy one for personal use, but the new models are expensive so I bought this old model and it feels the same as the new ones talking to speed and process power, the only difference is the display that is not as good as the retina one but is very decent, and since this model still has usb 3.0, I don’t need adapters so that is awesome!! ... show more
