am absolutely blown away by this Mac Mini. For years, I've been using bulky desktop towers, and I decided it was time to downsize and modernize my setup. I was a bit skeptical that a machine this small could deliver the performance I needed, but I was completely wrong. This little box is a beast! The Intel Core processor combined with 8GB of RAM handles everything I throw at it with ease. I'm talking multiple browser tabs open, streaming music, running office software, and even some light photo editing—all at the same time without a single hiccup. It's incredibly fast, quiet, and stays surprisingly cool. The 256GB SSD is snappy, and the whole system boots up in seconds. The setup was a breeze, and the classic, minimalist Apple design looks fantastic on my desk. It has freed up so much space and made my whole workspace feel cleaner and more organized. For anyone on the fence, don't let the size fool you. This is a full-fledged, powerful desktop computer that is perfect for home, office, or student use. My only small challenge was that it just took a couple days to get Windows Shaquisha figure it out and installed on the operating system. ... show more

Works well.

Update: Lucky for me the machine doesn’t support Tahoe which is the newest MacOS and which is widely hated. I did not know that and in my ignorance would have taken it if I’d had the option. Sequoia is ok but not great, Apple is clearly losing its way but I can live with Sequoia. I upgraded to an 18.5 100hz display which looks a little better than the 17.3 I had on it and has the additional advantage of needing only a single USB-C cable to deliver video and power. The changeover was as simple as unplugging one and plugging in the other and then powering it all up. I’m sharing the keyboard and mouse from an M2 iPad though that connection seems to break if the Mini is put to sleep and wakes up. I can slide the mouse off the right side of the iPad display and it appears on the Mini. The keyboard follows the mouse so I need only one of each on my desktop. I would def buy a new Mini if not for all the Tahoe issues but it’s difficult-to-impossible to downgrade Tahoe back to Sequoia due entirely to Apple. Original: Upgraded from Catalina to Sequoia right off via Starlink connection - the first attempt failed checksum, second attempt succeeded, so that’s 32gig off my data plan. Synced with my other devices no problem. Using a $50 portable monitor and ancient wired kbd & mouse. The unit connected easily to my wifi network and setup was smooth. This is my first Mac and I like it. If that doesn’t last I’ll load it with Ubuntu. ... show more

Does what I need
Size: 8GB Style: 256GB
The computer came installed with Catalina and upgraded easily to Monterey. I use it for iOS development and it does what I need. The HDMI port was not working, it would recognize the monitor or TV but not put a signal out. Not sure if that is a software or hardware problem but using a USB-C DisplayPort-DVI cable connected my old-but-good Dell monitor just fine. I read about issues with Mac HDMI ports so it is probably best to just use the USB-C ports. I appreciate the large number of ports. It is pretty quiet in normal operation and definitely fast enough for the applications I write. In all I am glad I saved money over buying a new M1 Mini. ... show more

good value
excellent condition for the price. slow, but expected for 7 year old mac mini. fine as tv pc, for streaming, remote gaming and cloud gaming. bluetooth range is disappointing for couch gaming with wireless controllers. benefits from all the quality bonuses expected from apple products, especially ability to run sequoia, which is beautiful. ... show more

I absolutely love this MAC Mini! It updated as soon as I plugged it in and had been performing flawlessly. I’m going to buy another one for my remote location.
