I installed the RO system a few years ago, after a system from another brand began to be difficult and expensive to obtain replacement filters. The APEC system was actually easier to install, doing away with the saddle valve that punctures the original pipe was a splendid idea on the part of the engineers. They replaced that with a valve that was integrated into the cold water feed for the faucet. This made the system easier to install and assured me that I would not have to deal with a leaky saddle valve later. Filters simple to replace. My water is perfect. Since I started using the R.O. method, I finally drink enough water. It's easy to install. The filters lasted a good 7 mo. with one user. Use for drinking, cooking, for ice. With under sink holding tank I always have enough water. And under the sink it's always dry. I had a Shaklee countertop model when I lived in Florida. It was wonderful, but think I paid close to $300 for it if I remember correctly. And that was over 20 years ago. ... show more
