If it takes your water a long time to get hot, this will solve your problem. I was considering a similar system where the pump mounts at the water heater, but that installation was much more involved and I didn't want to deal with that. Then I found this where the pump mounts under the sink. Installation could not have been easier. You do need an outlet under the sink, or near enough to plug the pump into, and room enough under the sink to put it. I had to mount a small shelf to the back wall of the sink cabinet to get it above the stuff we have under the sink. Make sure you put the brass fitting with the red mark on the hot side of the pump (also marked red). You can get this wrong - ask me how I know. Just follow the installation directions. Our water now gets hot in seconds. You can hear the pump humming, but it doesn't run often and it's small price to pay for having near instant hot water. It was a little on the expensive side, but the quality is excellent and it was well worth the investment.

I have a kitchen sink that is quite far from the tank-top water heater located in the garage. It takes up to 2 minutes to get the hot water. Recently I learned about recirculation pump idea. After doing some research and given that I have a power outlet underneath the kitchen sink, I purchased APCOM UT1. The unit is quite heavy, which I'd personally interpret as being well-made. The installation takes like an hour but not difficult. I just need to make sure all connections are carefully tightened to avoid water leak. I also used a smart power socket so I can control the on-time from my phone instead of using the built-in timer. This unit works beautifully. For example, I set my smart socket to turn on between 7am to 9am in the morning. When we get to the kitchen in the morning after 7am, the hot water is available almost instantly (in contrast to 2 minutes wait as before). I'm also very satisfied with the very low noise level when it runs (I have pretty sensitive ears to noises). The built-in timer is also super quiet (even though I don't use the timer, it keeps running when the power is on so the noise level matters). The only 4-star (instead of 5-star) I gave is the price. $350+ feels a bit pricier than I hoped. I went for it for the brand. I definitively don't regret paying for it.

What a bear to install under a bathroom sink, but after watching a gazillion Youtube videos and a lot of trial and error, SUCCESS. Not bad for an 80+ year old woman. What would have taken a professional a couple of hours took me a couple of days. Needed time to rest my back and knees. I still am not quite sure how this thing works but at least 80% of the time, we get hot water to our bathroom at the farthest end of our house a lot faster with less water wasting. The hot water heater is as far as possible at the other end. It was easy to program the time, just like a timer for your lights and the hum of the motor when it is running is hardly noticeable. The motor only runs for short periods of time and I have yet to figure out when and why it starts up but thats okay. We still get hot water faster. I think we will save a lot of water and the cost to run should be minimal. I did a lot of comparisons before deciding on the APCOM and chose it for the features and the price. I would recommend and hope it will last for years.

We had the pump installed by a licensed plumber. It seemed to work fine for the first few days, then the pump motor overheated and tripped the bathroom GFI. After that it quit working. We had to pay the plumber to come and uninstall it so that we could return it. There was no offer to reimburse the costs for the plumber. We paid $394.00 for this product and it failed in days.

Update: After working great for 7 months, one of the brass tee fittings started to leak. No idea why this happened, but it was leaking in the threads. I called Apcom customer service to see if i could get a replacement fitting. After a long hold, the person did not know what i was asking for and transferred me. I was immediately put into an after call survey. I called back and got the same person and the same exact thing happened. I called a 3rd time, got a different person and they said someone would call me back within 24 hrs. Never got a call, days later i starting searching for a replacement part and it was hard to find. I found this Lasco tee that was pretty much and exact match. "LASCO 06-9123 Angle Stop Adapter Tee for 3/8-Inch OD Compression x 3/8-Inch OD Compression x 1/2-Inch Slip Joint". Installed it and am back up and running. I realize now what others have said about Apcom is true and their Customer Service is not good. So easy to install, instant hot water now, i mean instant! Got the 10 MM silicone pads that are suggested in other reviews and some small stainless steel locking bolts/nuts and just set it on the cabinet base. We do not use the timer it comes with, instead we use a Kasa smart plug. Runs so quiet, we don't hear it at all, zero vibration. Very pleased with this after having it for several months.

Arrived quickly, nicely made, installed easily, and it works! Only day 2 so much is yet to be determined as to reliability and endurance. But it's working as advertised and a very nice benefit. It's better than other systems that pump constantly, it only pressurizes when the temperature at the sink cools, then activates. No waiting 1+ minutes for hot water. It saves lots of water use.

Relatively easy to install, but would have appreciated more detail on the order of the washers to hook it up. Did exactly what it was supposed to (though my wife did not like the Luke warm cold water while it ran). Lasted about 18 months, then one morning I smelled an electrical fire smell, the motor was too hot to touch, and it was dead. How long should it last? Is this unit save to tuck in the back of the bathroom vanity? I know I would not trust this hot water recirculator again.

First of all, you need to realize that I rarely write reviews, however, I found that this under sink hot water pump system is certainly worthy of my high praise. First of all, it was incredibly easy to install, especially with the use of the YouTube video as put together by the manufacturer. Next, it works flawlessly. We found that we can have it run for as little as five minutes and the unit brought up hot water that use to have us run the water in the shower for at least five minutes. I would, however, recommend that you only use the system for five minute periods since the cold water can get warmed up if it runs for much longer, at least that was our experience. We have bypassed using the timer and have used our Alexa app. We created a routine where always say is "Alexa, start the hot water pump for five minutes." That greatly settles the issue of having warm water for more than just a few seconds in the cold water line. Of course, I realize that this may vary by anybody’s individual home. Overall, it’s a five star system, and it saved us quite a bit of money on wasting water down the drain while waiting for the hot water in our shower. Kudos to APCOM.
