I purchased this in May of 2020. I attached it to my router in the attic (I didn't put the router there.. AT&T did). Also plugged into it was the VOIP phone base unit. As it's so far away, I've not ever used it for the phone charging (I have a separate portable brick for that), but it it were in reach, it would certainly be a nice feature to use! Have had zero issues with it. During several power outages, it's given me plenty of time to save/backup online work before powering down my laptop. During surges, which we get just before outages, the power blinks several times but this stays up like a boss. Even more amazing is the fact that it's been in the attic which gets well over 100 degrees in the summer months and it has had no issues at all. The battery lasted me to now, so one month shy of four years. I just logged in here to see what battery I needed to get (APCRBC154) and dropped this review while I'm here. I'm seeing the replacement batteries priced here at about $36; if it lasts another 4 years, that's a good enough deal for me. ... show more

***Updated*** After noticing issues after unplugging this UPS I began having new issues. I contacted my utility company that discovered a connection issue that was potentially dangerous and likely damaging my electronic devices. It turns out that my house, and 3 neighbors were all having issues and no one had reported it yet, but thanks to this noisy APC UPS we all got our issues fixed. While the issue was developing this was caused by a loose neutral connection which is actually pretty dangerous and could potentially cause a fire. While things had not escalated that far yet, I'm glad that this little box saved my bacon. My ups has worked fine, but recently started clicking frequently. APC says this is the normal trim or boost function working properly, except that I never had it click this frequently in the past and it has caused power interruptions that have kicked me off wifi 2x today. The whole point of a UPS is avoiding power interruptions. After further googling it seems that this could be caused by dirty power or failing internal capacitors. None of my other electronics are having any noticeable issues and I haven't changed anything with my electric connection recently. APC says that my circuit may be overloaded but I don't have too many devices running off of these outlets and they've been plugged in at the same spot for 2-3 years. ... show more

Plug it up then plug desired device/devices up. I purchased this for our Starlink. Our electricity blinks often due to cows rubbing on the tie down cables for electric poles. This is a very good battery backup for your electronics. I primarily have mine hooked up to my computer, a desk light, and my printer. If the power goes out it seamlessly and automatically switches over and keeps your electronics powered up. It allows you sufficient time to save all your work and turn off your system before it to shuts off. I have noticed that you get about 10 to 12 minutes of running time after the power goes out before this unit powers off. ... show more
