Scooter itself seems fine. Brake cables are too long, and are safety hazard as they can be easily snagged on things. Assembly instructions are very lacking in detail and are in "broken" english. Additionally, the lack of a provided needed metric hex wrench can be problematic for many (to tighten brake levers on handle bars). Other assembly requires metric wrenches or use of standard pliers which will scape metal surfaces. Overall, a bit of a challenge to put together, especially by one person. ... show more

Paint was bright white with black and well done. Ride was smooth for my 8 year old grand daughter who is 4'4" and 50 lbs. Would have been too large for my 5 year old grandson. Assembly takes some time and concentration, especially brake lines. Overall a good product!

I bought this as a Birthday gift for my 7yr old granddaughter. It came half assembled, all I had to do was insert handlebar which already had brake cables on bars...run rear brake cable to brake...attach wheel and adjust brake. I couldn't adjust that rear brake correctly. So I went to our local bike shop. Right a way she noticed that the front brake cable was on the right handle bar which could cause the user to go head over heals. That's why the front brake is Always on the leftside. I left it overnight, told her to do what ever she needed to do to make it safe which was to rerun the cables. That cost me almost an extra $50. I don't know if they all come half assembled or not but just beware of this. The bike shop was very impressed with the quality of the scooter. ... show more

Here are some thoughts about the product. Overall the unit is reasonable for the price. The frame is solid and the wheels are fine. Comes in two pieces (a) handlebar with the brakes attached (at least mine did) and (b) remainder of the frame. One connects the handlebar to the frame via a friction fit achieved by tightening a bolt. This part was cake to assemble. Where I advise folks to look out is the brakes. First, to attach the wheels to the frame, compress each brake pair together by hand and slip the cable out of the second brake pad assembly. the wheel will then slip in readily. Next, if the brakes require adjusting because they dont compress evenly, use a phillips on the small screw one sees jutting out the side of the unit. Had to figure this out the hard way. thought to pass the tip along. ... show more

Purchased 2 Aosom scooters. One came with a defect on the brake system. I contacted the seller and they quickly replied and solved the issue by replacing it. The scooter is otherwise great and sturdy. My husband and I ride them with no issues. Easy to maneuver once you get the hang of it.

Excellent scooter for a child, maybe 7 years or older. Well built, will last years. Our child was hesitant at first, but after maybe an hour of practice over a few days now rides very naturally. Brakes and kickstand are very welcome. Inflated wheels are massive and provide excellent suspension on cracked or wonky sidewalks, and small gutters. Not many downhill areas here, but brakes would make even a steel gradient fun and safe. Assembly is very easy if you have experience building bikes. Otherwise, take your time, or get your local bike shop to assemble. Fits in trunk of our compact car. ... show more

The scooter came partially put together with horrible instructions. But we figured it out and I went together. The tool provided is not efficient in putting the equipment together. My daughter loves the scooter. Unfortunately the front brakes broke off in the first two weeks. I can’t tell if it’s good quality or not now ... show more
