this works great for Lab equipment I have not tried this on volumetric flasks but it might work Now I have a round bottom flask that I use but I think I need different stir bars I would recommend a football shaped stir bar either way it's still works decent and I have used it for a while The only problem I have seen so far is that the lowest setting doesn't even stir If you are trying to reach low speed then put it at a higher one and slowly turn the knob downwards Besides that I haven't seen any problems with it however I would maybe recommend some more bars Because I lost one =( Also something that's funny you can even take off the knob And if you touch the main part then it's actually kind of sticky It's nice that you can take it off for cleaning purposes Also another thing one time my brother poured water all over the stir plate I quickly dried it off and it still worked I still wouldn't recommend pouring water all over it to test it I think it might be waterproof but don't test it still ... show more

What can I say? I love it! I got this to structure my water. I only have to turn the knob mid-point and I get a nice vortex. I use a half-gallon mason jar and fill it almost to the top. I use culinary tongs to take out the magnet pill.

I've nothing to compare it to but the build quality seems sturdy and it's quiet during operation. I use India ink in small bottles and add graphite or charcoal powder to thicken the ink so that it prevents feathering lines when drawing on cheap copy paper. Now i don't have to stir by hand every 5 minutes! I tested stirring larger glasses of other liquids just for fun and it works equally well. Smaller bottles must use smaller magnet bars and low speed. Only regret is that I should have gotten one with a USB power connector so that i could use a battery pack without being plugged into a wall socket. I don't disconnect the power adapter from the machine itself because i doubt it can survive too much pulling and pushing. I also don't turn the dial to "click" off because the lowest speed is no spinning at all. ... show more

This guy replaced my old beer yeast stir-plate that was an ancient high school lab looking piece of junk. It was loud, ineffective, and expensive. This replacement was the opposite. Great value, quiet, compact, works great, and MUST use less power. Highly recommended.

Edit: Company contacted me regarding my 1 Star review. They explained the issue and how it was being addressed in manufacturing. New unit sent immediately and it works great. New unit has a much more solid power connection. It's good to see a manufacturer willing to make changes to production when issues are noted, and I would confidently buy from this company again. I picked this up for making cold brew coffee at home. While it worked great at first, the power cord pulled lose from the back and the unit became non-functional. I'm not sure if there was a short or if there are more wires disconnected, but it will not work. It appears as if a set screw was missing in construction and once the screw allowed the power wires to pull loose it was apparent that the soldered points were not insulated. I would love to give this a better review since it worked well in the beginning, but I cannot recommend this due to the manufacturing errors. ... show more
