I love my new luggage set! I just got back from a good Alaska vacation, and I realized my soft sided luggage set wasn't just old, but it was dated in technology. And being the thrifty shopper that I am, I decided to go with something affordable, updated, nice looking, and 3 pieces for myself and my family. This set is really effective and covered all the bases mentioned above. First, the wheels roll in 360 degrees and spin freely. This is so much more handy in the airports and for extended travel in general. I find it much easier to navigate with the luggage while it's fully upright instead of dragging it behind myself and constantly hitting the backs of my shoes. My kids found it fun to push the smallest one while walking behind it kind of like a "ghost ride" haha. This is actually a feature you can utilize for hands free transport so you can grab something from a pocket or switch hands while trying to make a connecting flight. Additionally, the height adjustments of the handle were convenient. As a taller person 6'1" I appreciate having the tallest setting while the kids were able to utilize the shorter ones or not extended at all. Having hard sides allows for you to maximize the space in the suitcase while also protecting potentially fragile objects inside. I feel less inclined to toss the "bag" around but that's a trade-off I prefer. With the zipper compartment, the elastic strap side, and the "dirty" or underwear pouch, you can really organize your clothing quite well. I found it nice to make the quick access clothes under the strap for easy pulling in and out without having to be careful and not unfold the other half of the luggage. This has another added benefit of keeping your time searching for clothes to half the time since you're not unpacking or digging. Lastly, the zipper locks. They're extremely easy to program, you just need a pen or pencil to push in the button once your code is set to open. Having 3 numbers uncomplicates things and prevents prying eyes from your bag while also remaining TSA compliant. I believe they have a tool to easily open the lock. I'd imagine someone who really wanted your clothes could also get into it with said tool, but it's still a preventative measure. If anything, it locks your zippers to one location on the bag for easy retrieval. The smallest size is also perfect for the overhead bins on the plane, but it might be tough to get it below the seat. I used all 3 of the bags for the trip comprised of myself, my wife, and our two young children. We had more than enough room for a week in a very wet and starting-to-get-cold Alaska. I'd definitely recommend this 3 piece set of luggage for anyone on a budget. Lastly, I'd like to add the one feature this set is missing from the more expensive, premium luggage is the compression zipper. Although we didn't need the extra room and we weren't having to sit on our suitcases to close them, it's nice to be able to expand the room inside and take it away. ... show more

The color and the texture of the luggage surface is very nice. Three sizes good for my travel to hometown. The small one could bring on the flight. Quality also nice. I like that this set can nest when storing. Small fits in medium which fits in large. There is ample room for packing and there is a zippered internal "flap" on one side that also has a zippered net for packing smaller items like toiletries or other such things in each case. Also the other side (inside) has a strap set that clasps easily to hold whatever you pack on that side, for example shirts or jackets. The outside zippers that close the case can be locked in two ways, first there is a combo locking mechanism in which you can snap the ends of each zipper handle (there are two zipper handles on the case, so you can zip/unzip in two directions) allowing you to use a combination to lock your case shut, additionally the zipper handles themselves have an overlapping hole where you can add a small padlock if you like. The hard case construction is made out of a poly material that does have some flex but seems sturdy enough to maintain its shape. Over all my wife and I are very pleased with this purchase. Our initial intent for getting this set was to upgrade our "go bags" from canvass bags to something easier to carry or drag behind, which the wheels on these cases makes much easier even on less then hard surfaces, and easier to pack. We recently had to evacuate our home due to wild fires and thus learned the need to have better "go bags" that are easier and quicker to prepare then fumbling around trying to keep a canvas bag open when you're in a hurry. Of course we have pre-packed our "go bags" as best we can, but there are always other things you need to add quickly if/when the time comes, like current medications, electronic devices and power cords to mention a couple. "Wisdom is proved righteous by its children" a bible proverb that means if you act wisely, the results will be better then if you ignore reality and thus suffer the consequences. I lugged one of these (the mid-size) across Italy and I mean really lugged. I pulled it over kilometers of cobblestones and hauled it on many buses, trains, subways, and planes. I had to carry it up many staircases. It was overall really great and I was very happy to have brought this suitcase. I also really like the bag's simple but fully functional interior design. It was just right for me. I also like the color (I got purple), which stands out at baggage claim. It's really 4.5 stars but I rounded down. Here's the breakdown: Weight: 5 stars (very light) Durability: 5 stars (it held up to extensive rugged transport and handling and still looks like new) Wheels: 5 stars. This bad boy rose to the challenge of those cobblestones like none of my companions' bags and this really saved my arm. Handle: 3 stars. The one feature of the bag that fell short of my hopes was the handle. It feels much flimsier than the wheels or body of the bag and has a tendency to slide down when extended (as in, when you are rolling it, which makes the going harder). ... show more
