Size: Wash and Cure 3.0
Although I'm pretty adept at FDM printing, I'm very new to resin (SLA) printing. I knew when I decided to dive into SLA that I would want a nice setup for washing and curing my prints. I also wanted something that looked good too. I didn't just want a cardboard box with a light over it. I originally couldn't justify the price of the AnyCubic Wash & Cure, so I scoured Amazon for parts to make my own "nice looking" cure station. By the time I found a setup I liked, I realized that I was almost spending just as much, so I went ahead and bought the AnyCubic. Honestly, I'm glad I did. This thing makes washing and curing so easy it's worth the price. I set it up on my workstation with a silicone mat and some paper towels and I was in business. All I have to do is throw my build plate into the AnyCubic and the machine washes both my print AND my build plate (bonus). I also have the option of setting the print in the provided basket and washing it that way too. Once it's done washing, I set my print on a paper towel, dry it off, swap out the container for the platform on the AnyCubic and set it to cure. PROS: * Can be used with just about any resin printer. It works just as well with my QIDI Shadow as it does for AnyCubic's resin printers. If you have a super large print (like something that could be printed on the S-Box or the Saturn) you would likely have a problem with the size, but most prints will fit in this machine. * Comes with extras that allow you to wash on or off the build plate. * Seriously easy to use. * Timer options. 2, 4, and 6 minutes. For both washing and/or curing. * Stop button so you can stop mid-wash or mid-cure if needed * Excellent washing. I mean it, this sucker creates a tornado. It gets in those hard to reach spaces. And it changes spin direction halfway through the wash. * Safety - it only works when the lid is on. So you don't have to worry about being blinded by UV light if you accidentally start it without the lid on (ask me how I know) * Can handle any liquid. I've used IPA, Mean Green, Simple Green, and Denatured Alcohol. It works great with all of them. (Denatured Alcohol works the best for me.) * Looks and feels great. It has a minimal foot print and can easily be placed next to the resin printer on an IKEA Lack table (you FDMers out there know what I mean, right?) It's also solid. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic. Not even the lid. * They have their own Facebook Group with active AnyCubic employees CONS: Not a lot, to be honest, but if I had to list any... * Longer time options. Maybe a 10 or 12 minute option added. * Fingerprints, ammIright? * I'd love for it to be a tad bigger. Or hopefully have AnyCubic offer another larger-sized station. I plan to eventually upgrade to a larger resin printer, but I'm hoping someone (*cough*AnyCubic*cough*) will come out with a good super-sized wash and cure station first. * Additional containers. I'd love to have a second container to rinse my prints without having to swap out the liquid (they are already offering this in the Facebook group, and hopefully will be easily available on Amazon soon). All-in-all I highly recommend it. It's worth it. It really is. ... show more

  • Good Product.
Size: Wash and Cure 3.0
Over all, this is a very good product. However, to cut to the chase, I prefer using an ultrasonic cleaner and a homemade UV curing chamber. Here are a few of the pros, cons, and reasons to back up my preferences. Pros: Simplicity (Two machines in one) Pretty good at washing parts (reason for "Pretty good" explained later) Amazing at curing parts (the UV LEDs are super powerful) Attention to safety (the lid is UV blocking and there is a safety switch that shuts down the machine if the lid is removed) Simple user interface Works with a pretty small amount of cleaning fluid (there is an included bracket that lowers the bed to the surface of the liquid) Cons: Price (see below for further detail) Can't use both the cleaning and curing features simultaneously In all, this is a very useful piece of equipment. However, let's go into further detail on a couple of the points made above. Let's start with my comment that it does a "Pretty good" job at cleaning. Though the cleaning system does a surprisingly decent job at removing excess resin from the surface of the prints, it lacks the penetrating capability of an ultrasonic cleaner. With an ultrasonic cleaner, the part gets cleaned inside and out. This is important because resin printers can't really print infill. This means that either you print with 100% infill (i.e. solid) or no infill (i.e. hollow). Because the ultrasonic cleaner uses, well, ultrasonic waves to clean, these waves can penetrate the walls of the print and clean the inside as well. And finally, let's talk price. Though this machine is pretty good at what it does, I don't think it is worth the $150 price tag (as is the price at the time of the writing of this review). I say this because of the all the other methods of doing the things this machine does (sometimes even better) but at a cheaper price. For example, I can get an ultrasonic cleaner (big enough to put the entire build plate into) for around $80 and a string of UV LEDs for $10. So, with a little DIY (to build the curing chamber) I can have equivalent capability for $60 less. In conclusion, this is an all around good machine. I believe that you can make something better, but, since this is the only all-in-one cure/wash station I can find, I would recommend it to anybody that doesn't want to mess with the DIY side. ... show more

  • Makes post-processing a breeze!
Size: Wash and Cure 3.0
I bought my printer (Anycubic Photon) and have been printing for a few months now. When researching what I needed for cleaning and post-processing before my purchase, I found number of DIY solutions for washing away resin and curing the final print. Although they worked, they typically took up too much space (one setup for cleaning, another for curing), did a sub-par job, or both. Enter the Wash and Cure Station. It is extremely effective at washing even the deepest books and crannies, and has plenty of room for the Photon's buildplate. The basket is also a handy option for when you have a rather crowded build plate--just pop em off and into the basket to ensure proper flow around the part for cleaning. The cure function works great, and the timed stop allows me to walk away and work on other things. However, the biggest benefit is the machines size. At roughly the same size as the Photon, it does the job of two pieces of DIY setups that are often large and/or clunky. As space is at a premium in my workspace, this was the kicker for me. My work flow has been extremely easy (printer to wash/cure machine) and has cut down not only on the post-processing time, but also cuts down on the number of paper towels needed for each printing run as you don't have to move the print as much. When I bought the machine, my primary concern was the price. However, after having used it, I can say it was well worth the money. It isn't necessary by any means, but it did ease the transition from FDM printing into the world of DLP. ... show more
