Mixed feelings about this rug. It arrived 6 days ago. If you purchase this rug, you WILL need to purchase the extra padding. Without it, this rug is merely decorative and not functional. TWICE in under a week, I've had to PULL UP this rug from the laminate flooring. The backing and cool flooring is creating large amounts of dampness/condensation together. We just moved here 2 weeks ago, and I thought it was the apartment, but none of the other area rugs are having the same issues. I believe it the rug backing material itself and today it began smelling mildewy, which is a health hazard. Maybe a dehumidifier will remedy this situation, but is bizarre to only be happening since the rug was placed there. So I don't know about that scenario yet.... The carpet shag itself is very nice and feels great on the toes, so I was torn about whether to keep or send it back. There is not enough backing or padding to call this alone an area rug. I am disappointed in that aspect also. It looks very nice but feels more like a blanket when walking on vs an 8x10 area rug. We put this in our 7yr old’s room. It is very soft with medium padding. We really like there are rubber like grippers on the under side to keep the rug from sliding. Downfall: it is slightly harder to vacuum. The Robot vac get tangled every time it goes over it.
