I bought one of these gates for a rear fence project. It was so easy to build the gate that I then bought two more kits for both sides of my house. I just purchased another two more kits for my daughter's house. I cannot give these kits any higher praise. Now I did upgrade the screws. I used 3" exterior deck screws to attach the hinges to the 4x4 posts and not the included screws. In fact, I didn't use any of the included screws. There's nothing wrong with them, it's just that I tend to over-design things that I build. I really do not advise hanging a gate with a 2" screw. I also used the longer 3" screws in any of the corners that I could on the metal frame. If you buy this you will understand what I mean. You can only use shorter screws on some areas of this kit because the screws will hit metal if they are too long. Any other place that you can put in a 3" screw, then I suggest that you do it. It's not that the hardware that is included is bad, or the wrong size. It's just that gates are heavy. Wood gates get even heavier when they are wet. Also, I have a kids and grandkids around who are tough on things. It is REALLY easy and inexpensive to build it with better hardware in the first place than it is to have to fix the gate in a few years. Just my .02. Anyway, these are GREAT kits for a terrific price! I highly recommend them!!!

I used two kits to span a 12' opening. Used PT 2x4 on the inside. Covered with actual 1x6's on the outside. Although I did add an anti-sag kit there was no issues before I did that. I just figured that a little extra insurance against sagging was prudent given the size.

Bought this set. Gate assembly easy and quick. The problem is the all in one hinge design. While mounting the gate, a slight wind pushed the gate open bending the hinge side mounted to the main post. Had to take down the gate and pound the hinge flat, then remount. Seriously question the long term durability.

These does not provide a lot of support for a gate that is about 5 feet wide. The gate is better with them, but it does not completely keep it from sagging. I feel if the brackets had more length, that might help it more. The screws must have been specially designed, because I couldn’t find a bit that was a perfect fit, and all that I tried would just slip as I tried to get the screws thigh. I ended up using some other ones I had on hand. The instructions mentioned a countersink driver, but there wasn’t one included.

I installed these hinges on an outside gate about 3 weeks ago, and already they are beginning to rust. The screw heads are totally rusted, and the actual hardware is beginning to rust, especially the swivel part of the hinges. Also, the weld on one of the 90* corner supports has broken. When you pay as much for hinges as these cost, you expect better quality, especially since they are supposed to be designed for exterior use. This product is a disappointment. Save your money and look elsewhere for a quality product.
