Description

This is a "BRAND NEW" VERY HIGH END 15" MARINE WHITE RUBBER AM/FM ANTENNA. This AM / FM antenna is made for marine applications. The mast is made out of rubber so it is flexible yet it is stiff enough so it will not wobble around in rough seas. Mounting of this antenna is also designed for narrow applications so it can be mounted in as shallow of a area as 1 inch. The antenna is a total of 15" tall including the base. The base has a high end black mount that is adjustable to set at any angle, and comes with its own wrench to adjust it. The reception wire is 55" long with a standard radio connector to plug into the back of all radios sold in the USA. So this is a Marine Quality AM/FM White Mast and Chrome Base Antenna. Not sure what anybody is complaining about! As soon as I plugged the cable into my radio all stations came in clearly without even having the mast connected to the cable! If you are not getting reception with this antenna make sure it is plugged in fully. It took a little effort to fully seat it. Looks and works great. Very happy with my purchase. ... show more

The antenna itself seems very sturdy and of quality materials. The antenna was installed in a 22 foot deck boat and the fiberglass surface is approximately 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick. The length of the mounting stud just barely fit through the surface far enough to allow the upper portion of the antenna to be screwed in. In fact I had to leave off the very bottom of the mounting base in order to expose enough threads. Once installed it seemed to work very well and pulled in numerous stations. Without the antenna the radio would not lock on to any stations. Other than the problem with the mounting stud I'm very happy with the purchase. ... show more

I have a 1993 Four Winns Horizon 210 runabout. There is no place on the boat where the fiberglass is thin enough to mount this thing. The threads are just too short. Furthermore, I plugged it in to see if it worked. It did, but it also worked just as well with the mast removed. Something wrong with this picture. The build quality is good. Returning. Why doesn't the description list the maximum hull thickness it will accommodate? I'd say 3/16", maybe. Definitely not a quarter inch. ... show more
