It seems to be a fairly efficient unit. The setup was easy and trouble free. The AC doe a good job of cooling one medium sized room. The operation of the unit is simple and straightforward; the remote control is a nice addition. Only negative I've noticed so far is the sound level; while it isn't loud or intrusive it is noticeable, especially when running on the high speed. Definitely a product I would consider buying again if the need would arise.

I bought this portable AC for a bedroom that doesn't stay cool during the summer, and it's made a huge difference. Setup was straightforward, and everything needed for the window installation was included. I had it up and running in less than 30 minutes. The cooling performance has been impressive for the size. It brings the room down to a comfortable temperature fairly quickly, even on hot afternoons. I also like being able to adjust the airflow with the auto swing feature so the cool air reaches the whole room instead of blowing in one direction. I've noticed that the thermostat can be off sometimes it says it's 72 degrees. but it definitely feels warmer so I have to turn the temp down. One thing I really appreciate is how versatile it is. The fan mode works well when I just want some air circulation, and the dehumidifier mode is a nice bonus for humid days. The self-evaporating system has also been convenient since I haven't had to worry about constantly emptying a water tank during normal cooling. The Sleep mode is noticeably quieter than the regular cooling mode, making it comfortable to leave on overnight. The timer is another handy feature since I can have the room cooled before bedtime without running it all day. However I'm not a fan of the touch-buttons. In the middle of the night, they are not lit up so you can't see them to turn it up or down. Overall, this has been a great portable air conditioner for the price. It cools well, is easy to move between rooms, and includes features that make it simple to use every day. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an effective portable AC for a bedroom, office, or apartment.

My default rating for Vine is 5stars and if I stray from that it means I found something I didn't like, but at 4stars it's still a product I would order. In this case the issue I have is the fact that even on the fan mode both the fan expelling air out the front and through the compressor coils out the back are both on all the time. That's terrible design from the aspect of noise and separating the environment outside from the environment inside. Every bit of air this unit pushes out the window has to come back into the room or house from somewhere. That means just having the fan on is heating up your house by replacing the cooler inside air with the hotter outside air. That's frankly silly. So, you shouldn't use this as a fan since it's too loud for a fan and has that dual aspect. That said, as an air conditioner, it won't get louder than the fan mode. You should think about that for a minute. The noise of the unit is coming from air noise with the fans running air over the radiator fins. Since they're all running all the time, they're louder than the compressor. I'd love to tell you that the compressor is so quiet I didn't hear it come on, but it's really that the fans are louder all the time than the compressor. It's not a loud compressor, but the fact the unit ran air both directions all the time ruins most of the other features meant to keep it quiet. Keep in mind that it does have a drain for excess condensation and that may be why both fans run. In order to avoid draining it pumps water onto the compressor coils to blow it outside. While that improves the efficiency, single hose models still have that performance gap they create because they pull in air from outside the room in order to push air out the window. There are things you can do to improve the efficiency, but they will always have that disadvantage. That said, not having a unit stick out the window and violate your HOA is the big advantage of a free-standing unit like this. It's lightweight in comparison and compact considering the high BTU. So, the size is beneficial for limited space situations and the wheels keep it mobile. You won't move it because that will cause the hose to pop off the unit easily. That's unfortunate but not unexpected. All things considered is ultimately why I decided it wasn't a bad unit but it's just not a home run effort.
