This is now the centerpiece of our basement remodel and our only source of heat. Very happy with look and quality. A contractor installed in the wall for us. He had to frame out a box to set it into. To be expected, we planned on this. Electrician recommended installing its own line with a breaker because using the heat does pull a lot of voltage. Blower for heat is very quiet. We have about 1000 Sq. Ft area to heat and if I put it on about an hour before going downstairs it is cozy even in 20 degree outside weather. Sure beats the $7k we were quoted for a ductless mini-split! At this rate I could run the fireplace all winter for 5+ yrs before my electric bill would even approach that price. Flame adjustment and choices are excellent. A lot of features for the price and we have been using it nonstop for 3 months with no issues. The hardest thing for me to do alone was dragging the box in the room. I am 76 not very strong small woman living alone, so I had to do it alone. The instruction sheet was pretty worthless but the manual is very clear and I had no issues installing it. It took me a few minutes with the remote to find a combination of colors I liked, easy. Heat output is good and it will warm my bedroom. It’s not very realistic but I wasn’t expecting it to be. New age, no wood carrying, no ashes to clean up and a different look and atmosphere.
