  • Great Product - Easy to Install and Does Not Add Significant Weight to Door
Second house/garage I've used this to insulate garage door. Positives - plenty of double back tape to secure to garage door. Plenty of product and easy to cut to size - small knife included. Challenge with this door was that I had to remove the hurricane braces before installing insulation. Braces added to securing insulation and screws to hold braces went through insulation easily. Took a bit to line up holes in bracing with garage door since insulation covered them. Once I figured out to secure center then outside edges allowed a little easier alignment with holes. ... show more

  • Good product easy to install and a very good price
This has beena great improvement to keep the garage cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It was not hard to do either and a very good product,

  • Nice product, installation relatively easy, appearance good
My wife and I installed this insulation yesterday on a 16 foot garage door. Nice clean appearance using the white side out. Job duration roughly 3 hours. The garage is definitely warmer; we have a radiant heater in the garage which now keeps up with cold weather. Installation tips: 1. tools needed: razor knife with 6 or more new razor blades 2. Large metal T square for accurate 90 degree cuts 3. 48 inch rigid metal "ruler" that can be used as the straight edge to guide cuts over 16 foot width...plus/minus depending on your door 4. knee pads: you will need these to be able to protect your knees and keep your focus on straight cuts. 5. two people to manage the fitting and adhesion process. 6. Sharpie pen to mark your cuts 7. provided squeegee. Suggest start by determining the height of the panels on your garage door...then cut a wooden stick to be used as your guide throughout the process. Begin with the lowest panel on the garage door...then as you get better at the process you will be working on the upper panels that are more easily seen...you want these to look great. Raise the door so that the lowest panel is at a nice working height. Unroll the panel with white or silve side up depending on your color choice. Look at the edges of the insulation...if it has an uneven "wave" due to the way it was cut...suggest take the 48 inch metal ruler and place it along the top or bottom border and "cut away" with razor knife any uneven cuts....you are looking for a straight line along the upper and lower surface....make it straight and your job will benefit. Now.... Mark the selected height using your guide stick about every 3.5 feet with a sharpie. Now place the 48 inch metal ruler along the sharpie marks and confirm you have a straight line....now hold the ruler in place with a hand and knee and using a NEW razor blad cut the height along the required length. When complete, you and partner "fit" the insulation into the panel and mark the desired length with a sharpie. Take the insulation down and using the t square cut the length as desired. Now you are ready to use the two sided tape. Using windex spray, wipe along the top and bottom of the garge door panel where you are going to apply two side tape. When clean and dry two of you work together...one unwinds the tape as needed and the other carefully aligns the tape along the top of the panel as you go across the panel width. Cut with razor knife. When tape is adhered...use the hard end of the provided squeegee to firmly press the tape against the door. At each end of door you may wish to place a vertical tape line to keep each end tight against the door and reduce gaps. Now repeat the process along the bottom edge of the panel Recheck your fit and position. When ready remove the tape protector along the top (do not expose bottom tape yet) to expose the adhesive along the entire panel length....Now two of you hold up the cut insulation...one holds the bulky insulation in the general position needed and the other carefully moves along the line and pushes the insulation tightly in place along the entire door...two of you move as a team across the door. Now expose the insulation on the vertical tapes at the end of the panels and the entire bottom length of tape across the door and press the insulation in place. Now take the provided squeegee and using the padded end push the insulation in place. Voila....one panel done. Now change the razor blade in your razor knife so that each panel has a fresh blade. Repeat this general process, don't rush...you will have a good looking door. Good Luck! Hope this helps each of you. ... show more

  • Summer Arizona Survival Kit
Living in Arizona, we know a thing or two about heat. We’re practically living on the sun’s front porch. So, when I first heard about this thin insulation, I was skeptical. Could it really keep out the devil’s breath? Spoiler alert: it does, and it’s not magic – it’s science! Installation was a breeze, which is ironic because breezes are the one thing we never get here. I had to trim the ends a bit, but hey, that’s a small price to pay for not melting. The double-back tape is so strong, it could probably hold up a house. Two summers in and it hasn’t budged. I’ve used 3M Command strips on the windows so I can peel it off in the winter and let the sunlight in – you know, during the three days we call winter. Now, the real test: I whipped out my trusty infrared heat gun (because who doesn’t have one of those just lying around?) and did a temperature check. Inside at 7:50 AM: 98.6 degrees – human body temperature, perfect for my vampire lifestyle. Outside at 7:51 AM: 150 degrees. That’s hot enough to bake cookies on your dashboard, which I’ve actually done. In conclusion, this insulation is like having a force field against the Arizona inferno. If you’re tired of living in a pizza oven, slap this on your doors and windows. Your AC bill, your cars and sanity will thank you. ... show more

  • A good Product, hope it helps with the heat.
Product performs as advertised. Be aware if you are installing on an 16ft door in one piece, the product does stretch a little and your cuts may be off a bit at the ends. I found it better to do half at a time. My door is 5 panels high and the product I bought is designed for a 4 panel high door but seller was excellent and I was able to get a roll to complete the job. ... show more

  • The double sided tape is not heavy duty but rather thin and hard peel off.
I followed the instructions, but found the placement and removal of double sided tape to the most time consuming and frustrating. I purchased my own double sided tape and cut several panels. The instructions say to place the double sided tape along garage panel first, but I found that if I placed panel first, the slipped in the double sided tape along each side, this was much quicker. We will see if it holds up this way. The finished product looks nice. I purchased the white/aluminum product with white side out. The cutting knife did not stay sharp and I also had to used my own cutter. Cut a pattern first, then measure out your other pieces. The panels are not a perfect fit, but looks ok, and covered up the peeling paper, plus providing a dimension of insulation for my garage. Not sure if just buying the material rolls for this product would be cheaper because I did have to use my own tools. It is a $98.00 product, so you may want to check if you can buy these rolls cheaper, but it is a quality product. The business shipped in a big U-haul box, so I'm sure that was not cheap, so in the long run, paying for the idea, shipping and material, it is probably a good value. ... show more
