As a Vines reviewer, I get a lot of "new" products. Imagine my surprise when I took these gloves out of the box and they looked familiar. I went to the closet and - sure enough - these are the exact same gloves I bought a a local discount store a few years ago. So my review will be based on two years of experience with these gloves. I live in the Midwest where we get cold temps and plenty of snow. I wear gloves daily as soon as the temperature drops down into the 30's (sometimes starting in October) and these are my daily-wear gloves until the end of March. Years of trial-and-error have brought me to the point that I will ONLY wear gloves that contain 3M's "Thinsulate" material - which these have. I find that it allows the glove to breath so that moisture is not trapped inside. This means you don't stick your hand into a wet glove in the morning and they don't start to stink in a matter of a few weeks. Like most Thinsulate gloves I've owned, the insulation in these gloves feels very "puffy" initially, but compacts over time. After two years, my old gloves are MUCH flatter than the brand-new pair, but I don't recall ever thinking that my hands were cold and I needed to replace them for that reason. The gloves are fairly durable. They are worn daily for walking, commuting, getting groceries, etc. - though I haven't pressed them into service for anything but the lightest of snow shoveling. (I have a dedicated pair of lined leather gloves for doing 'work' so that I can save my "good" gloves from wear and tear. (Yes, I'm a Dad with several "grades" of New Balance shoes - thanks for asking :) )) Water resistance is not great but I'm usually outside in temperatures under 32 degrees anyway so it's not much of a factor for me since the water is frozen. As mentioned above, I'd rather the glove be able to "breath" over the long-term. One feature that hasn't worked perfectly for me is the supposed ability for the gloves to work with touch-screen devices. Having said that, I have this problem with ANY glove that claims to work with touch-screen devices so this is nothing new or different. (It may be that the combination of the gloves and the screen protectors I use don't get along.) Overall, for me, the first pair of these gloves was excellent and I'm looking forward to similar results with this brand new pair. ... show more

The Reason for Selection: Winter is on the way General observations: The picture shows how water soaks in and does not bead off the lycra layer. I measured my hand before ordering and compared to the size table. I was within a quarter inch of the upper measurement of the size I ordered. The term fits like a glove is appropriate here. If your hand is right at the upper limit, consider getting the next size up. The fill is puffy and given my experience with this type of fill, these should be good to about 40*F, but not much lower. Granted, I have Raynuads syndrom and I need a bit more insulation than others. After putting on the gloves and holding them under running water, the water beaded up for a few seconds and then started soaking into the fabric. It did not make it through the fill. After they dry, I will apply some water proofing spray to them. The waterproof layer is listed to be the second layer under the lycra shell. The picture shows how water does not bead off the lycra layer. The Good: Size is fairly accurate The Bad: Does not repel water well The Ugly: Nothing Ugly.     • Gloves are solid, just not the right size

Gloves are well constructed and warm. They are really soft inside. If your girl hands are in between sizes on their chart or close to the next size, order up. Used the sizing guide and were on the edge of the size ordered, but didn't order up because anticipated they might be a roomier men's cut. Should have ordered up. The gloves were a tad too small at the fingertips and didn't get a chance to use them for this review. The gloves are somewhat bulky, but this usually means warm for outdoor winter activities. ... show more

These gloves are fine. They are a decent price ($16) and they are quite warm. I had a problem getting my phone to recognize my tapping and swiping though. Yes, it worked after a bit, but don't expect to be able to play a game or anything else that might need precision. Why you would do that outside in freezing weather, I don't know, but if you want to, maybe get different gloves. They seem good otherwise. I like them and now can't wait for the snow. ... show more

I am a tall woman with pretty large hands, so I got the large. That seems like a normal size in mens for me. I thought if they were too big, they would fit my husband or teen son, because they both have bigger hands that me. When I opened the package, I was really impressed. These are so nice! They are so warm, too. I walk my dog a lot and my gloves from the last couple of years just never feel quite warm enough. These seem like they will be great for the coldest days. They are oversized on me, but not too big. The length is fine, they are a bit wide for my hands. They fit my husband too. The fingers are long enough for me, which is often a problem I run into with gloves. It is still in the 80s were I live, so I can't fully test these out yet. But, once winter comes and the snow, too, I think these are going to be my favorite. Especially at night when it is really cold. One other thing, is the band that goes around the wrist is very soft and stretchy, but fits really snuggly around the wrist (in a good way, not in a cut off circulation way).
