I use my computer for music production and I don't like having many dongles for my interfaces so having this adapter makes it so much easier to plug in my USB accessories. I like that the HDMI is in the rear and that there is a lightning port for wired headphones. Overall this works very well with my current set up and wish I had this sooner than getting a different adapter. Definitely works as expected and the color matches very well with the space gray MBP. I received the device today. Shipping is very fast and as always it is packaged well. I am trying to love this dongle BUT it drains the battery of my macbook pro 2020 13 inch. It is also HOT. It is too hot to the point it makes my hand so uncomfortable when it lays on the left middle part of my macbook. This totally brings bag the utility and connectivity of the new MacBook Pros, after Apple handicapped the laptop with only two USB-C ports, and then using one of those two ports as charging hub. I had questions about this hub that the sales page didn't answer, like do the dual USB3 type c connecters plug into my slightly older MacBook Pro's ports? Answer: yes. Is this hub able to feed through video to my newer 4K monitor? Answer yes. Does this aid in plugging in a USB mike and headphones? Answer, yes. About the only thing it doesn't do is to present an old-school jack for ear buds, which it can cover up when plugged into the right hand side of my MacBook pro 16". ... show more

I had the same issue as others concerning a non working audio lightning port-- Update- All I did was reboot my computer with the adapter installed- port worked flawlessly!     • Good variety of ports, snug fit into laptop's Thunderbolt ports, slim profile.
The adapter fits snugly into the Thunderbolt ports on the side of the MacBook Pro and has a streamlined look. The only ports I have used are the conventional USB ports; they work well. It seems I need more than 2 conventional USB ports so I bought a 2nd adapter for the other side of the laptop.

    • Convenient flush design, but doesn't support USB-C-power + USB-C monitor
It is nice that this fits in flush with the side of the laptop, unlike the dangling adapters of competitors. However, much to my surprise, you can't plug in both a USB-C external monitor AND a USB-C power source for your laptop simultaneously. I have tried and either the monitor or the power doesn't show up depending on which ports you use. It is possible to do HDMI + power, but given that it has two USB-C slots I would have thought the other scenario would be supported. ... show more
