  • A world where all your neighbors are animals!
I originally had this game for Gamecube, but now I also bought it for the DS. I really like this game, and I think it is a game more suited for handhelds than it is for bigger systems. This game is pretty simple and easygoing. You move to a new town and you don't have any money at first. You start off doing odd jobs for the local retailer, who is also the person that built your house. After a short time your are freed from working for the retailer, but you still have a hefty loan left to pay him for building your house. To pay it off, you have to do whatever you can. You can do favors for neighbors and in most cases they reward you with money or objects - the objects they give you, you can sell to make money. You can also fish, catch bugs, and dig - and whatever you find doing these things can always be sold. Of course, if you choose not to sell stuff there are other things you can do as well. You can always keep any thing you've got and use it for your house. You can donate fish, bugs, fossils and paintings to the local museum. Finding new bugs and fish is tricky, however, because the game is in real-time and some insects and fish only come out in certain seasons, but it's fun to see how the museum builds up over time and how many different types of insects and fish you have caught. You can also send letters to the neighbors, and give them gifts, both of which makes them like you more (and give you better and better gifts!) Another fun part of the game is trying to find objects to make your house look it's best. Your house gets rated from time to time and you want to make your house as spiffy as possible. Holidays and birthdays are fun in this game because the neighbors actually acknowledge them and do things to celebrate. Like on July 4th there is a fireworks show in the town square. One thing that is new to this game is that you can be friends with other animal crossing players around the world and you can visit their towns, and they can visit yours too. I love this game and I think it's great because there are so many things you can do in the game and so many things you can explore, and some things I probably didn't even mention because there is so much. But I digress, the game goes at a rather slow pace and if you like games with more action this is not the game for you. This is one of the more creative games I have ever seen. You have to have an open mind to play this type of game, because the game is much like real life in the sense that you never really know what will happen next, the game changes as you go along. I highly recommend everyone to give this game a try. It can be very addictive. You may even be surprised at how much you like it once you start playing. ... show more

  • Great way to relax
I wasn't sure whether or not this would be a game that I'd really enjoy playing but I decided that it looked fun enough and purchased it anyway. The idea is simple, you move into a town full of animals and you can create friendships while doing simple tasks such as fishing, digging up fossils, gardening and generally having a fun time in the town that you create. You start off the game riding in a taxi on your way to your new home town. The driver of the taxi asks you a lot of questions and the way you answer those questions determines what you will look like. Once you arrive at your town, you are given a home and are greeted by Tom Nook, the guy that owns the town shop. He is allowing you to move into a home while you pay it off slowly over time offering several upgrades if you are willing to pay for them. You can earn your money by catching fish, bugs or by shaking trees and selling the fruit from those trees. You can also sell items like gyroids and fossils that you dig up from the ground. The money you earn can either be used to pay off your loan to Tom Nook or it can be used to furnish your house and buy gifts for your villagers. Overall, this is a rather fun, relaxing game. Because there really is no aim, you do not need to feel stressed over not completing goals. You can go at your own pace and are never pressured. You can spend your time talking to villagers and getting to know them so you can get their pictures (a sometimes hard feat) or just to be friendly. However you never know when a villager may decide to move and bring in a new villager to befriend. The only thing that really annoys me about this game is how some characters tend to repeat themselves. You cannot push a button and skip what they say so you have to sit and wait until they are finished. The lack of actual, real life holidays and not something made up is also another minus. However it's still a great game and even funner if you can invite friends over! ... show more

  • Very ADDICTIVE~Awesome fun game for all ages~wifi rocks!
First let me say the pictures shown above in the description look nothing like the fantastic graphics of the game. Those look like crude first drafts. I've had the game about 3 weeks and I'm loving it. All my other games have taken second place. It is very addicting and it does take daily work to keep your town looking nice. I have my first wifi visit to another town today. AMAZING, I could not believe it. The person is a stranger to me but she gave me all the fruits I didn't have. She has a beautiful town and lives in a huge home. She has been at it a year. very nice person. I cannot wait to do that again. It is so much fun to organize the house and plant flowers and trees where you want them. You can go fishing and catch many different kinds of fish, dig up fossils, catch bugs, pick fruit. And best of all Money does grow on trees and under rocks. I love brain age and those games and know they help me but this is just total fun and you get to meet other people. How cool LOVE this game. ... show more

  • Best game for DS compsole
I havee been playijng Animal Crossing since it came out on the Gamecube compsole and I've loved it every since. I'm really glad that it came out on Ds, because I knew it would be cheaper. I play it every day. In this game you can go fishing, catch bugs, or just chat with the other animals in a new town you name yourself and move to. When you get to the town you will soon find out you are the only human there. Shortly you will be acquanted with a racoon named Tom Nook who generously gives you a free house, but he does charge you by informing you to pay debt. Fortunetely he doesn't badger you about paying the debt like real debt collectors he just tells you to pay it off whenever you can. If you pay it off he will expand your house so more furniture can fit in. Unfortunately, you have more debt to pay. If you don't want to pay the debt you can just get acquianted with the animals throughout the town and sometimes they may give you presents or even money(called bells). The best thing about the game is that it has rea-time technology programmed inside, meaning that the game continues to run in a real-time fashion even when you're not playing it. This makes the game more exciting because everyday something new is happening, and sometimes festivals and holidays occur on certain days. ... show more

  • Glitching and Crashing
This game arrived on time and in nice packaging. I was very eager to play this game. It already had a file on it, so I cleared it and started new. I then realized that this was a hacked game of some sort. The town was covered in money bags, so I did not have to work at all. It defeated the whole purpose of the game. I then realized my house was full of rotting food and bugs. I also already had the golden shovel, fishing rod, and everything else you had to work for. It crashed every time it would run longer than 20 min., and I know that it was because of the game because my 3DS is brand new. I would attach photos, but my computer cannot connect to my 3DS. I will not be buying from this company again. ... show more

  • Animal Crossing is Animal-tastic!
This game (which I bought for my daughter) seems like a pretty nice game. You start out working for a raccoon named Tom Nook in a town of animals, living in a small house. After collecting furniture, buying, selling, and interacting with the animals around you, you can work your way up to living in a mansion, shopping in a mall, and essentially having your whole mortgage paid off. My opinion? It's OK. It's certainly fun enough, but I suggest playing it in short streaks instead of long stretches. The game isn't made for playing for hours together, as it runs on real-time. This game can't really be completed, either. You just keep living and doing the same things you used to. Which leads me to the point of why I didn't give it 5 stars... well, the game gets repetitive. After a few hours of doing the same things OVER and OVER, you get bored. I took a star off for that. It really subtracts from the fun. I was hoping they could add a few newer features, since it's pretty much like the Gamecube version. But overall, it's not bad! 4 stars. ... show more

  • “Animal Crossing: Wild World: Where Real Life Meets Pixel Paradise!” “Animal Crossing: Wild World: Where Real Life Meets Pixel Paradise!”
Step into the enchanting world of Animal Crossing: Wild World, where the mundane meets the magical, and your Nintendo DS becomes a gateway to pixelated paradise. But hey, I’m not recommending it—just sharing my joy! Neighborly Vibes: Move over, real-life neighbors! In this game, you’ll befriend quirky animal villagers who’ll pop by unannounced, chat about life, and occasionally ask for favors. They’re like the best roommates you never knew you needed. Fishing Frenzy: Forget the ocean—I’m diving into rivers and ponds! Catching fish is my jam. From the elusive coelacanth to the humble tadpole, every catch feels like a mini victory. And don’t get me started on the legendary golden fishing rod! Bug Hunt Extravaganza: Who needs bug spray when you’ve got a net? Chase butterflies, beetles, and fireflies across your screen. It’s like a digital safari, minus the sunburn and mosquito bites. (Again, not recommending it, just saying!) Home Sweet Pixel Home: Customize your cozy abode with furniture, wallpaper, and rugs. It’s like playing interior decorator without the hefty bills. Plus, you can’t accidentally stub your toe on that virtual coffee table. Win-win! Seasonal Shenanigans: Real-time seasons mean snowball fights in winter, cherry blossoms in spring, and fireworks in summer. The game syncs with your DS clock, so you’ll never miss a meteor shower or a Sunday turnip sale. Weird and Wonderful Events: the Bug-Off to the Fishing Tourney, there’s always something happening. And let’s not forget the mysterious Wisp, who’ll grant wishes if you find his lost spirit pieces. (Again, not recommending it, but it’s cool.) KK Slider’s Jams: Saturday nights are lit! KK Slider, the guitar-strumming dog, serenades you with soulful tunes. Request a song, and he’ll play it live. It’s like having a private concert in your pocket. (Okay, maybe I recommend this part.) Remember, I’m not saying you should play Animal Crossing: Wild World—that’d be crazy! But if you did, it’d be a delightful escape from reality. Just saying ... show more

  • Poor control--but you will get used to it
I have played this game until my house was first upgraded but then got really tired of playing because its extremely poor controls. I tried to use the stylus only but it did not work well. D-pad and buttons gave me even more frustration because no matter how carefully I move my character, I could not get things done effectively. For example, I could not pick items up easily. When I wanted to walk, I picked the designs I paved on the ground. i could not shake trees while holding a net or watering can. The worst thing I experienced is that I could not effectively water my flowers. It was so difficult to position my character to pour water dead on the ground where the flowers were growing that the following day always several flowers were dying. Trees were blocking my view to water. Instead of watering flowers, I pluck them out and shove them in my pocket! It was too much maneuvering to just water flowers! Positioning and adjusting took so long and wore me out (think about watering more than 100 flowers every morning with this dull control!) It was so stressful that I could not go on any more. In addition, it was a hustle to decorate my room. It was troublesome to move furniture. If I tried to rotate a piece of furniture, other furniture went into my pocket. When I wanted to put items in a dresser, the dresser itself went back into my pocket. The weakness of the control ruined everything for me. If you are full aware of this shortcoming, you might be able to enjoy the game. If you get easily irritated, this game is not for you. Update: I am addicted to this game. I have been playing it EVERYDAY! The poor response problem for stylus does not bother me anymore: when I pick things up, use buttons. I now know that I can water only the withering ones so watering is not a problem, either. I plant flowers in places that are not blocked by trees so no more problem. I got used to move furniture so it is no longer a fuss for me. Overall, this game grows on you. I love playing it thirty minutes a day, to get away from the real world. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! So I changed the 2 stars to 5! ... show more
