My control panel stopped working mid cook on Thanksgiving day. Fortunately, I had a pellet grill I was able to finish cooking the turkey in. I was beyond frustrated with MB and their control panel. It rarely work with the app and when it did, it was inconsistent. I noticed the temp control was getting a little weird the last couple of cooks. I had to turn the dial more and more to get the temp to move. Finally, on Thanksgiving day, I was adjusting the temp of the 1050 and it dropped all the way down to 225 and I couldn't adjust it up or down after that. I turned it off and unplugged it for a little bit, hoping that would correct it. Nope, it was done. Anyway, that's my rant about the original 1050 control board. This on was easy to install and works great. I'm not worried about the bluetooth or wireless connectivity, because it never worked on the MB control board anyway.

used this to replace the lid sensor on a Masterbilt Gravity 1050. The sensor that came from factory gave out shortly after purchasing the unit. got tired of slamming my lid , risking further damage, so I decided to give this a try... approx 48hrs of actual cook time into it... and this sensor is still going strong... we'll see how long they last! But I'm satisfied with the cost and reliability , as of now! :)

I’m very happy with this controller for the Masterbuilt 560 because the installation was quick and easy - all the screws and electrical adapters fit perfectly. The original had wifi, but it only worked on 2.4 GHZ, and I had a miserable time trying to separate my router frequencies to accommodate the Masterbuilt. And it’s really not a big deal that the new controller doesn’t have wifi since I use a Bluetooth temperature probe anyway.

So far it has done everything I needed it to do. I didn’t care about the Bluetooth or WiFi on my gravity series. I don’t think I’ve ever used it in the 4 years I’ve had mine. Quality seems good, controls seem to do what they are supposed to do. Can’t ask for much else.

These look exactly like the one original that came with my smoker, but the accuracy of the four that I ordered is quite poor, they fluctuate and range a good 20-30 degrees from where they should be. The original probe seems to be ok. I double checked this with my own BBQ Go probes which were all within 2-3 degrees of the single/original probe that cam with the smoker, so my conclusion is that these are of poor quality or defective. With this much variance in accuracy you can not trust these to cook any expensive cut of meet. Since they are about 30 degrees lower than they should be, your food would all be overdone if you trusted these. I'm thankful I decided to test these before I threw a brisket on the smoker.
