  • it's on another level
I want to thank the kaico company for making such excellent products, if the name of the video adapter that you are going to use in your retro console is called kaico, then you are making one of the best investments, to give life to the classic, kaico has a diverse catalog of adapters for different types of consoles, but today I want to talk about this excellent purchase that I just made (kaico labs 2x) compatible with super nintendo, nintendo 64 and nintendo game cube, although there is another one that also complies but does not as professional as this one that is yellow and customizable the other is green the box is kaico the same but it is a bit more common, this one has the option to customize it I will upload two images, number 1 is how it comes from the factory and the Two is how I found it to look better. It took me more than 1 hour making comparisons to get the best out of it. I advise you to download the update on its official page to be able to configure it, I'll play another one. or subject, some will say no that the super eon 64 is better and I tell them it is not like that I had them both and only the eon improves the brightness and contrast a little and some color something that you can do yourself here customizing the image without count that the price is around 140 to 150 dollars for half of it you can buy this and here are the images remember number 2 is the best is how I found the touch of magic, but if what you are looking for is the perfection of I advise you to combine the image with the mclassic, it is an excellent accessory for consoles, it is almost a video card that adds a touch of borders and eliminates the so-called saw teeth, well, there is nothing left to talk about, I only gave you my opinion since I It cost a lot to learn about the subject to improve the quality of my Nintendo 64, I just hope that my experience helps you make good investments to get the most out of it... ... show more

  • Worth every penny
This produces a great picture. The colors are bright and vivid and blurring is un-noticable. There is no lag whatsoever. I have tried many upscalers for the N64 but this one is far superior to the rest. This is far better than installing a RGB chip and is hassle free. You can adjust the picture with software while playing the game. Do not fall for expensive up-converters, some may be slightly better, but not worth hundreds of dollars. ... show more

  • Great simple converter
It's simple and it works for it's intended purpose, that's about all I can ask for. Different modes seem to work for different games better.

  • Works BUT you have to tinker to find what works for you
Ok so this does work. You need to go to the kaico website and download the updated. This is unfortunately not in the instructions. Then unzip the file and connect a usb micro to the device. Hold down on the button by the hdmi output and you can update the firmware which is in the zip file that you download the updated with. Next if it detects your device it will show COM#, the number will be whatever COM it is, and then click on Open. This will give you all your options. Don't forget to save your changes. If don't see the save button maximize the window and you should see it. I connect this with a MClassic so I use Svideo 2x because the MClassic smooths it. I plan on trying to use a scanline generator with them to see the results but just the doubler and MClassic I don't see any lag but I haven't tried fighting games. I mainly bought this because I have a retroscaler2x and the picture is offset to the left and I can't fix it. This allows you to move the picture all four directions. You can fix the color, brightness and there are three filters as well. I haven't totally figured out what they all do because there are sliders to increase or decrease the effect. I will say though I think I have the setting where I like for most games but there are a select few that I will make adjustments. Games will not look like emulators though. So don't expect this. It will make them look a lot better though. Picture too dark on your TV, color off, contrast too high or low, picture off or anything this helps for sure. Now I have heard some people not noticing any difference at all so I guess your mileage may vary. I will post pictures a little later when I have finished dialing it all in. Update - I have added photos, One with the M Classic, one without and one with scanlines. The pictures don't do it justice enough but it does do well. ... show more

  • Does not work, period.
Item does NOT work as described. My Nintendo 64 and 4K TV(Sony X900H) are both NTSC (North American). I tried plugging in as described, and of all 6 modes, only two (Yellow and Purple lights) showed a green block in the middle of the screen. All other modes showed nothing. I tried updating the firmware, nothing changed. I restored default settings, nothing changed. I even tried to power it externally, but nothing changed. I even swapped out the memory expansion pack to the original one on the N64, still, nothing changed. If anyone has any other suggestions, I am open to try, but as it stands, I will be returning this as well as removing the rest of their products from my wish list. ... show more
