Amazing quality, amazing price for all you get! Amazon, brings you the total package and price for this fantastic arcade fun! This product is offered by other companies, BUT.....ONLY Amazon includes the platform box that is needed if you want to stand and play it, as adults are loving it! Also you have options for a bar stool for comfort, by having it on a platform. Once you hear the sound and feel the roller ball, it's all is VERY EXCITING AND EXACTLY THE SAME AS BACK IN THE DAY!     • The monitor is trash. Stay away.
Update 8/31. There is a video on You Tube which details how to replace the trash monitor with a Dell Monitor. Of course this will void the warranty, and add about $150 to $200 to the total cost of ownership. But the difference is night and day. And if you swap out the monitor prior to the build, like this guy does, it's even easier. This doesn't excuse Arcade 1up for using an absolute horrendous monitor. But if you need to buy this, and you're taller than 5'6", then just buy the monitor as well, and make it part of your build. Trust me, it's worth it. Now back to my original review where I trash Arcade 1up for dumping on my childhood memories I love Arcade 1up. But this Centipede Legacy edition should be renamed the Centipede Travesty edition. And I can sum up the reason in one word. The monitor. Who ever sourced that, and allowed it to be put in the cabinet should be let go. Plain and simple. What's infuriating is that the rest of the product is great. The actual cab is gorgeous. The controls are much improved over the previous models. The button layout is great for all the included games. The game even has wifi so you can compare scores with people online. Short of some head scratching decisions in the build process (like why are the cab sides in two pieces? it would have required a slightly bigger box? So I have to add the last 3 inches of the cab using screws and metal straps? Really) the finished product looks great. Until...you actually have to play it. All of that is undone by a monitor that is almost unreadable if you stand a shade over 5ft 3. It's astonishing. It is apparent that a normal sized adult male never stood in front of this thing when it was constructed, because it is simply awful. Playing Asteroids is almost impossible since the shots fired by enemy ships simply fade into the background. And even playing Centipede or another game is painful to the eyes because of the extreme washout. I'm going to have to buy a stool so that I can get my body into the narrow "golden zone" that this monitor has. It's criminal. My Atari Star Wars monitor is just great. And so is the superlative Defender 40th anniversary partycade. Even my 1gen 1ups like the 12 in one Atari (which died, requiring this replacement) had a better screen. It is evident this was a "suits" decision and Arcade 1up knows full well that after a 2 hour build, you're unlikely to return it. Until Arcade 1up "man's up" and issue replacement monitors, this will be the last business I do with them. I am beyond disgusted. ... show more
