I have been wanting an angle grinder for a while now, many project in the past that would have been much easier, but this time was to help restore some old tools. There have been other cutting projects in the past the I just did the hard work of using a hand saw and after a few of those I wanted something easier, but I have not had many more of them. I finally had a good reason to get one and I wish I did not wait. This is a sturdy and powerful tool that is pretty easy to use, easy to hold and not very heavy. It's corded design means that it is tethered to an extension cord, which can be limiting, but it likely has more power than a battery powered one. I found it pretty easy to change the heads, cutting, wire brush, and I assume polishing but I have not used that aspect yet. It made quick work of the project I have used it with. I know with some tools like this, that after a long time of use, that the motor brushings may need to be replaced to restore the functionality to the level it was new. I was glad to see that a couple extra brushes were included as that was a concern of mine. Using this, my recommendation is probably not different from any other such tool, is to use gloves, a vice or another way to secure the object you are working on, a dust mask, and ideally also eye protection. In the photos I used and old rusty hatchet as a demonstration. This kicked up some dust and I am not quite sure how, but I managed to brush the wire brush along my finger while working… but I was wearing gloves so there was no damage to me. (actually the glove did not seem to suffer any either). Still be safe and think about what you are doing. I do not have much to compare this to, but I can't think of any issues I have with this. It is doing what I wanted it to do without any real complications. For me this is well worth the cost.

I have another tool that can function as an angle grinder with the right attachment, but I was looking for something sturdier and easy to use. This one is perfect for my needs and comes with different cutting, sanding and cleaning wheels and brushes for different tasks. The grinder comes with a tool to tighten down the spindle nut that holds the various attachments. When installing one, you push down on the orange top button to keep the motor from spinning so you can tighten it down with the tool. Also included is a removable and positional guard that protects you from the spinning disks and the cut debris and sparks. Also included is a steadying handle for more control that can be mounted on either side of the grinder for left handed or right handed operation. There is a locking orange switch on the left side of the handle for operation. To turn it off, simply push on the texture part of the switch and it shuts off. The including cutting accessories will wear out, but its common size means you can find them lots of places. Included with the tool is a set of replaceable motor brushes to keep your tool working longer. The tool cuts pretty well, but don't force it into the material, let the spinning motor do the work while you steady the tool and replace the cutting accessory when it becomes dull. As with any power tool, you can really hurt yourself if you are not careful. The included directions show you how to use it properly for different tasks. The tool is air cooled, but the motor will get hot if you use it for an extended amount of time, so give it some cooling time between cuts. I used it to remove a broken welded on step below the driver's door on a friend's truck. It worked great and I was able to make smooth cuts. I wear glasses, but with this tool I also wear protective goggles to keep flung debris from scratching my eyes.

Immediately the fist thing that caught my attention was the quality and value for the money you get with this grinder, it is an inexpensive budget option if you want to get into starter projects. The grinder comes with attachments that are straight forward to use, I cut some small planks and had no issue with speed and power, the grinder went through them with no problem! While I wish the grinder felt a bit sturdier and the weight was a bit heavier, this tool still does the job perfectly fine. Overall it is a great tool for starters!

This angle grinder is heavy duty and includes 5 grinder wheels of various types. It has a decent amount of power when grinding rust from old garden tools like my shovel that was very old. I also tried one wheel to remove the grouting between tiles so I could replace a broken tile and it did that very quickly. I just had to be careful to hold the grinder very steadily so I did not chip the tiles that were adjacent to the one I was replacing. It is easy to install the various tips and very easy to use.
