We loved how these new seats looked and felt, but we didn't have them but a few months when we had a problem with one of the lids. The screws started to come loose in the top with normal use. I tried tightening, but the wood where the screw attached was compromised and they wouldn't hold. If the lid is not secure, then the whole seat falls apart. Our other works fine. I like these seats, but not if they fall apart so easily. Hopefully this was just a faulty item and not typical. We are outside our return window however, which is frustrating. Update: Angel Shield reached out to us almost immediately to resolve the issue. They offered a refund or a new seat. I like the seat and our other one has no problems so I requested a replacement seat which is now installed and has done well without issue so far. Thankful for the prompt responsiveness and for resolving the problem. ... show more

I was hesitant to buy this because of the reviews showing the hinges coming off but that has yet to happen to me. I've had this for about a month and haven't noticed it so much as getting loose on me. Looks good and has been solid. It's slightly glossier than what you see in the picture but it looks great and will most likely blend with age. The only defect I noticed was a tiny rain drop size chip underneath but I just used some wood marker on it and its not noticeable (not that it was to begin with). Installation was super easy, considering i've never been very handy with tools. So far I am happy with it. I will update should it give me any problems. ... show more
