  • BUY THIS E-BIKE
I had bought the 250 watt Red Line back in 2019. Absolutely loved it. Only issues are that being consistently around 300lbs, the smaller motor would gut out in strong headwinds and slight inclines. Also, the bike is designed in a way that you're pitched forward onto the handlebars and your thumbs, wrists and upper arms really start to get sore. Aside from that, the 250 watt bike never let me down. For four years I kept getting visions of me hitting one rut or pothole and the rim just folding on me. Never happened even with a heavy backpack on that averages 25lbs. So fast forward to yesterday. I received my bike and had no issues whatsoever putting it together. The included instructions pictures were really, really small to see, but I took a picture with my phone and was able to make it out. My first test run was 14 miles, boy did my hands and wrists hurt. But the bike exceeded my expectations by a MILE!! You can really notice that extra wattage and torque from the bigger motor. I used full electric throttle the entire time, no pedal assist, and once the throttle engaged it got me up to 21 mph quickly and then cut out to a constant 20 mph. Going up hills, strong headwinds, through grass and soft dirt never dropped under 19 mph!! The adjustable front shocks cushioned ever bump, rut and pothole like butter. My older Red Line saw the shocks going out within a few months and were never good. So another massive improvement there. The disc brakes once adjusted properly, though still spongy, worked great stopping me close to on a dime. The new controller is another marked improvement over the analog one and was pretty accurate on speed and odometer mileage, comparing it to my GPS speedometer and Google trip tracking. I wish there was a way to hack the controller to get more top speed and I think there is by using a magnet and pedal assist to trick the controller into thinking that your speed is lower but I don't want to risk ruining the motor, so I think I'm going to pass on that. The headlight is another improvement. I had more lumens and it has a straight cutoff on the top of the beam so you don't blind other drivers and people. The controller is bright in full sunlight and a cool feature at night that just ups the coolness of the bike. The downtube is thicker and the entire frame just feels beefier. The tires are chunkier too with taller nubs. I live in the Mojave high desert and there's a TON of goatheads with thorns that punctured my old bikes tubes but after two days of riding, no issues. But I'm still going to have them bulletproofed with a kevlar strip and heavy duty slime tubes. Then there's CRUISE CONTROL?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Yep, cruise control. It's automatic and there's no setting that disables it except for hitting the throttle or tapping the brakes to disengage the motor. It's really a cool feature. You just have to remember it's engaged. It kicks on after 8 seconds of steady throttle usage. So.... that's the good stuff. Now onto the small list of issues I have. My only issues are that when you start to move on throttle only, there's a delay of about 4 seconds where it's responding minimally but then kicks in and you're up and flying. Same thing happens when you hit the brakes and are back on the throttle full bore, it's just not immediate in the response. I've also had a few times where I hit the brakes and then go back to the throttle and there's absolutely no motor engagement whatsoever. I've twisted the throttle and released up to four times before the motor engaged. That's a bit disconcerting when you're crossing traffic but that's why it has pedals. The seat is just super uncomfortable and small. I have a wider saddle seat that's just perfect so that was no-brainer. The seat post for the 250 watt isn't interchangeable due to the 500 watts bigger and beefier frame. The instructions are meager and all of the photos are just tiny and you really need a magnifying glass or have to take a stable clear picture of it and then zoom in. Also, in the instruction manual it says to always charge the battery and when not in use, in the fireproof case. I have no idea what that is or if it's the case surrounding the battery. Lithium Ion batteries are notorious for catching on fire but as long as you don't overcharge more than 12 hours, use the wrong charger with different voltage or damage it severely, this shouldn't be an issue. There was a recall on the 250 watt 36 volt 8.6AH bottle style a few years back but this battery seems to be from a different manufacturer. Then you have the issue of being pitched forward over the handlebars. It would be so much nicer to be able to raise the height of the handlebars to alleviate that. But I guess the more I ride, the stronger I'll be and it may not be an issue. So, there you have it. I hope you get as much fun out of it as I have. I'm still in the honeymoon phase, so I'll include an update further down the road. ... show more

  • Smaller than I expected
Purchased this bicycle and once I was able to get on it and ride it, I realized right away it was too small for me. I adjusted the handlebars and the seat post, but I am a big guy and no matter what i did i was hunched over. I could see it creating a back problem with prolonged use. As for packaging, it was wonderfully packaged and relatively easy to assemble. i had trouble getting the front wheel to rotate without rubbing, but the seller shipped out a replacement part to fix that issue. In the end I opted to return the bicycle because it was too small. But I no longer had the box making a return impossible. Live and learn! I ended up buying a bicycle at a local store so i could sit on it and judge the size best suited for me. ... show more

  • Piece of s***
Seller will sell you a bite that doesn't even function, and then make it damn near impossible to return it! So not only will you be out of probably $500 for an e-bike that doesn't work but you'll be out of another 500 trying to send the damn thing back not even worth the time
Reviewed in the United States on April 19, 2024 by The damn charging station stopped working within the first two weeks of getting it and after a year of owning this thing and dealing with the charging issues it finally took a crap on me because it was such a piece of crap put together You can't even get the dang thing taken apart to actually fix the fans once they clog up. Horrible piece of tech & not worth your money

  • We will see
So far I've been concerned with this purchase. Wether it is the seat being too high or the handle bar too low I am not certain. This is my first bike purchase and honestly I'm not overly thrilled with it so far as its hurting my lower back to ride it. I also worry when peddling as it feels.. unstable? Not sure how to describe it but feels like the pedals are gonna break on me. I would return it but with the stories I've read about being charged more to send it back I'm beginning to wonder if I should just sell it off locally ... show more

  • Broken controller…no way to replace?
Dad bought this bike on Amazon last year and the controller recently failed and there is no way I have found to order a replacement! The universal controllers are not compatible. So, what now? Have to buy a new bike? Why so hard to order replacement parts???
