I'm not good at technical stuff I can misread any directions but this was so simple! I followed the directions given here. Even though it said it only detected 5G, I do have both. It is for 2.4 only but still provided a way to still hook up without me having to figure it out, by using a temporary hotspot, and it was simple. It did the thinking for that lol, I just watched. The even better part is that it works great! It's about 80 feet from my router, and I have many other cameras hooked up as well but the internet connection is great. I use this mostly for bird watching but I can see everything else in my fairly large yard as well. We've had partly sunny days a few cloudy ones, and so far, 4 days in, I've not had to charge it as the solar panel is working great. It has nice clarity and great features. It will record for ten seconds of any event, without any cost. I set mine on sleep until I want to bird watch or check on the yard which helps save battery time. The price is super nice and the camera is large and seems very heavy duty. I've spent some time creating a fun place for birds to eat and explore, take baths, using a huge tree stump as a base, tons of rocks, and solar pumps to have little bathing areas and waterfalls. So I rewarded myself with this camera to really watch them. It's better then a wildlife camera, and less money. I will use this brand for replacement of other cameras when needed. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is the second home security I've purchased which uses the Vicohome app. After easy setup and installation, I was able to access/view/get notifications for both cameras using the same app. The app itself well-made and intuitive. This camera is probably the best one you can get at this price point. It does everything it advertises. It turns/pivots to visualize all 360 degrees of its surroundings. The microphone is sensitive enough to pick up voice. Depending on your camera and phone connection, there may be some lag if you try to have an extended conversation, but it's sufficient for quick messages. Daytime resolution is excellent. The camera automatically turns on it's infared lights at night for night-vision. The infared provides clear black-and-white video and motion detection at close-medium range. You can also turn of the LED for color vision at night. The solar panel works well to keep the camera charged. The camera battery so far has always been above 95% as far as I am aware. I bought this camera to provide outdoor security for an off-grid cabin. The install was easy, basically pick a location, drill a few holes and mount it up. It is nice that the camera rotates 355 degrees which makes selecting a good location much easier. I mounted the solar panel on a roof line and so far it hasn't even come close to running out of juice. The Vicohome App is pretty easy to use and I had no problem setting it up. I have the cam about 40 yards from a Starlink router in the cabin, and it consistantly gets 65 Mbs on the 2.4 GHz link. I love that the cam will record motion activity on an internal SD card automatically, so no monthly cloud service needed although upgraded cloud service is available. You can also record manually through the VicoHome App. I haven't had any real false motion detections, it picks up humans, vehicles and animals as far as the cabin, about 40 yards away. It even tells you in the push notification whether the motion is a vehicle, person or "pet" (to include deer, elk, etc. lol) Picture quality is pretty good, obviously not as clear as a 4k cam, but still pretty good, The night infrared vision is very good IMO (see pic, taken on a very dark moonless night) although it is in B&W. The spot light is relatively dim for taking color video (see pic), but in real life it actually provides pretty good light. I also like that I can record and transmit audio through the cam. Easy to install. Extremely functional. Very durable. Has great picture. The night vision is in color and is very good. The solar panel makes it so you never have to put in a battery. There's only one downside and that is if you have to change your Wi-Fi network. That's a little difficult but doable.
