I was the hero for dropping these off. They are beautiful, a deep embossed blue and I love the design specifically on the bowls. Just a great first place setting for 4. When I first opened the box, I wasn't thrilled with the color (I'd ordered the 'Blue Fusion'). It seemed to have kind of a gray undertone and just wasn't pleasing to my eye. As I've used them over the past week, the color has grown on me a bit although I think I may have liked the 'Navy Peony' more. To be honest, the embossing seems a little crude but, again, has become less an issue as I have gotten used to them. Apart from the color and pattern, the plates have a nice, substantial weight to them. They work fine in the microwave (as advertised). I especially like the size of the bowls. They are larger than the bowls with my previous dinner sets and are a great size for soups or my morning cereal.

This is a very attractive dinnerware set. They are a nice, medium-weight ceramic with an attractive embossed design. The design gives them a nice elegance that puts them a step up from plain dishes, yet keeps them simple enough to coordinate with a wide variety of designs and colors. The dinner plates are a nice, average size, large enough for a solid meal without being so large that they encourage unhealthy portion sizes. The smaller plates have a lovely raised rim, almost turning them into shallow bowls. Although they seem sized more for salads or pasta dishes than desserts, the depth would make them perfect for a heavily sauced dish or pie a la mode. The bowls have a unique design and are a nice size for soups or even an alternate salad option.

Pattern, weight, color, and texture are all premium. It's a very nice set to have and the dishes themselves are not oversized. The bowls do seem a little smaller to me but I was accustomed to more oversized sets, so it's possible this is the average size of a bowl. Would definitely recommend as a personal set or even a gift.

The quality on the set is good and the blue color with the embossed design is beautiful. But for people who eat rice with curries or side dish, the plates are kind off small and do not have depth. We love this set for dry/semi dry dishes like pasta, noodles etc. The price point is also good and affordable.

The picture is probably more brightly lit than normal as the Navy Peony isn't quite as blue as it appears in the photo. It is a very lovely blue though. These are very nice plates and bowls. I am impressed with the way they were boxed for shipment. I removed every piece and there wasn't a single break or chip. These are stamped microwave and dishwasher safe which I really like. This is a very nice set for intimate dining.
