  • People love the appearance of the finished prints
Color: 1kg-silk Dual Color-black Red Size: Silk-1KG
For a silk the stuff is great. I have done some 10hr prints with this and did not have any issues with heat creep. Prints more like a regular PLA and the color shift is really attractive. has some layer strength issues. but adding extra walls will compensate for that.

  • Silk Blue, coral, and gold tricolor: gorgeous and unique
Color: Silk Tri- Colors Turquoise Coral Gold Size: Silk-1KG
I was hesitant to buy this since the price tag was about 40% higher than most other tri color silk filaments from other brands. But Amolen is probably my new favorite brand for quality after having bought 4 rolls of different filament of theirs. I really love orange and blue complementary colors. Firstly you would be hard pressed to find a blue and orange filament. Secondly, it would probably look like a brownish/bronze color in blended areas. But this one uses a light teal and includes a coral to balance it out. I printed a print-in-place articulated sparrow. A complicated print. I needed to use glue stick for the tiny joints on the first layer but otherwise the filament adheres really well to a textured plate. I printed at 205/65 bed. I printed this slow at 60mm/s. Retraction at 2 @40mm/s. No supports aside from beak. The overhangs show ZERO blobbing or sagging. Considering the big overhangs under the wings, this is very very impressive. There was very minimum stringing, which might be resolved with higher retraction. This print is basically perfect. Maybe the most perfect print I've had. My only complaint. One side of this bird looks green (still better than a bronze/brown). I don't think this can be helped. The blue is more pronounced on the undersides. A lovely perwinkle blue silver. I don't know how to get the blue to be more visible and the green less visible but I'll tinker with it. I absolutely will be purchasing the teal and pink filament in the near future which also looks amazing. But this one really exceeded my expectations. ... show more

  • Awesome stuff...
Color: 1kg-silk Dual Color-black Red Size: Silk-1KG
It's a great filament. I've only ever used Amolen filament. The color transition is amazing. It looks like a different color depending on the angle. Love this stuff. Worth the $. Especially if u only have a single color printer. Gives depth to a print without having to change out filaments. Runs great off a ams too. Just buy it already. (I suggest drying it out with a dryer, it does hold a bit more moisture, than basic pla.) ... show more

  • Yay!
Color: Silk Tri- Colors Red Yellow Blue Size: Silk-1KG
The media could not be loaded. Great filament, it's beautiful! Took some time to figure out temp settings, but printing nicely so far! ( the yellow and orange filament seems to be too brittle after printing, definitely not good for anything w small moving parts)

  • Okay not excellent
Color: 1kg-light Rainbow-yellow Pink Blue Size: Silk-1KG
Beautiful smooth color, a bit weak but not the worst I’ve delt with. Use caution when removing from print bed! I’ve had pieces break off a tad bit too easily. But overall I would buy again.

  • Good Stuff Easy to Use
This is a four pack of PLA filament. GITD green & blue, marble, & color change. The GITD filament worked as expected. The Green takes any light, even a pocket flashlight worked. It was very easy to print with & even as a novice, I didn't have any issues printing with it. I did put the setting (Matter Hacker) on translucent though. Everything else was the same. The GITD blue (shown as breath) printed very well with the same settings as above. It needed some supports (don't they all?) & these came off pretty easily. I didn't need any real sanding to clean them off. The blue needs a little stronger light, for a longer time, but did very well when it got that (see pix). Both GITD glued easily with E-6000 clear. "Super" glue wasn't as successful, but I didn't think it would be. They look great with a black light as well. Shown is a small section vs the color changing filament. Color changing filament. This filament printed quite easily, & I didn't have any issues at all. It stuck to the glued bed (I make my own bed adhesive), & there weren't any issues. It looked great on the heated bed & while it was printing, even the spool had a color change. It has a nice translucent skirt, & the colors were a yellow as it printed. Once it was finished, it didn't change color. Could have been the heated bed, I don't know. I was in a rush to get the gift done for someone. I tried using a black light as well, but as you can see, it didn't do anything. The supports were a little difficult to remove, but cleaned up very easy, with my thumbnail & finally with a riffler. I haven't used the marble filament as yet, but will in the future. I'll update this, when I do. It's vacuum sealed & stored in a hard plastic container. Overall, these filaments from Amolen are fantastic! I had very little waste, & that was from supports & skirting. I would like to see more combos or kits like this from Amolen. I don't always need or want a big roll, or I may not be sure about the filament & a small roll will be enough. I'm confident that any filament from Amolen will work just fine, it just depends on how you think you may need it to work (like the color change above). If you're looking for some great, easy to print filament, that adheres very well, you will do good in using Amolen when you get the chance. I may switch up my supplier. ... show more

  • Terrible color pooling and layer adhesion.
Color: 1kg-silk Dual Color-black Red Size: Silk-1KG
I was really excited to get this filament. I brought it in, loaded it up, and printed a temp tower. Everything looked good from 250-200 (the range I used). I chose 230. I then loaded an item in vase mode. Everything started fine, then it started striping. The way this filament works is it is red on one side and black on the other. I don't know if there are twists in it, it is twisting in the tube, or it's just due to things getting melty and weird in the melt chamber, but every inch or so the colors reversed. When I went to remove the print, it just tore. Pulling the top part that broke was like unraveling a sweater. The more I pulled, the more each layer came apart in a tiny thread. "Ok" I thought, maybe this will work better with an infilled model. I loaded another print and upped the temperature to 260 for better adhesion. It printed ok. The weird striping was still there, but much less. The print finished then just broke apart when I went to remove it. This is hands down the weakest filament I have ever seen. ... show more
