Swing is very beautiful in person. Not sure if the chains came with it or not as our contractor installed it for us. If so, they are too short, but should be an easy fix. He said easy to install! It’s absolutely what I expected though. Would buy again if I needed another one!

    • Comfortable and beautiful bench

I'm a big guy- 6'2", 300 plus pounds- and as my other Amish bench (non-swing) creaks a little bit, I was a bit leery about this purchase. Still, I went ahead and built a strong metal base to hang the bench off of. My brother, the architect, had me put in a concrete base and had built for me a steel frame. I spent much more on the frame than on the bench, so would have felt a bit embarrassed if the bench ended up breaking under my larger than your typical Amish weight. I need not have worried, the bench was sturdy and stable! For my purposes, the chain included hung well from an 8 foot distance, once I included the recommended springs. I bought a cushion to fit the bench (58 inches is pretty perfect), but find that the bench is so comfortable that it doesn't really need the cushion. I had a little trouble lining up the holes- more due to my lack of craftmanship than any misalignment- I couldn't see the holes to line up, so it took a few minutes! ... show more

This swing is not only comfortable, but is built really well, as anything the Amish do when it comes to woodworking. Only thing is, it doesn't come with the eye hooks to hang the swing up on your porch. Make sure you buy DEDICATED porch swing hooks! They come with upgraded hardware to handle the weight, and also have rubber grommets to prevent the chain from binding and making noise when you are using the swing. You can pick them up at any Ace or home improvement place for under 20 bucks. ... show more

My wife had been jonesing for a "porch" swing for a long time, so this was her Christmas present (2020). We are big people (over 500 lbs between us, so we needed something sturdy and that would stand up over time. In fact, it wasn't destined to be on the porch at all but hung in an A-frame stand in the yard. It sits beneath the oak tree in our front yard which will provide plenty of shade. She felt that this swing would check all the boxes for us and it seems that way. Assembly wasn't difficult though you do need to be mindful at one point about which fastener to use. It includes the optional cup holders which we installed. The drip hole wasn't cut all the way through on one of them, so I finished the job with my drill. The hanging chains are included and were even a little long for our purpose. Had we been hanging it on our porch, it likely would have been just enough. The construction seems solid and like it will last a long time though ours sits out in the yard and will be affected by the weather. We'll see how that works out. Although it is comfortable to sit on, we can tell already that we will benefit from cushions. After about 30 minutes, my behind was getting a little numb. That may just be me. Check the height of the ceiling where you are going to install it. Ours is about 9 feet and we need at least an extra 8 inches for the swing height to be cofortable.

This is a great addition to our first home! We’ve spent hours on our porch watching the humming birds and song birds from this swing. It’s very comfortable. It seems sturdy enough to last at least a few years, probably more once we polyurethane it. The warranty isn’t promising but we don’t plan on doing anything crazy. The chains are also pretty short. Not intended for high/porch ceilings I had to use a two step step ladder the first day. Bought new chains from Atwood’s(cheaper than online) The cup holders were a bit rough around the edges and not large enough to hold our coffee mugs so we cut the holes bigger and knocked out a slot for the handles and sanded them a bit more. Now it’s absolutely perfect! I definitely recommend! ... show more
