I bought this kit for my desktop monitors. I attached them to the back of my two 24" displays. Overall I am happy with the product, but there are a couple issues. The strips are advertised to wrap around the back of the display in a rectangular pattern, however the light strips are thick and not meant to be bent or warped. The instructions inside the box show an entirely different light kit that allows you to connect multiple strip together, but this kit has no such connections. It's just one long 3' 3" strip. I ended up curving the strip to make a 90 degree turn. This didn't cause a kink/break in the strip, but let's see how long the adhesive holds in that position. The adhesive does appear to be very strong. There are a lot of color options, but the white option isn't true white. It is more like a light blue. I was hoping for a straight white, but blue white option I have is ok and easy on the eyes. The maximum brightness could also be better. At its brightest, it feels like a soft faint glow. It definitely gives off the ambient glow that most look for in these types of light strips, but I would've liked it to be much brighter. Lastly, the remote control is great, but there is an occasional delay. The fact that it is RF helps because I don't have to have an IR receiver visible in order for them to work. Also, one remote from a single kit actually controls both of the kits I have setup. This is awesome. Only issue here is if the lights are out of sync. In which case, you can push the green button to get them all synced up and then change the colors, brightness, modes, etc and get the lights synced. Best of all, you can turn them off/on with one button on the remote. Even better, you don't even have to do that if you plug them into the USB port of the monitor. They will automatically turn off when the monitors go into standby or when they are powered off and turn back on when the monitor wakes up. I would easily give these 5/5 if they were brighter and whiter.

Nice product but we wanted it for some over the cabinet lighting and there is no “white” color. Soft white would be our choice and a blue/white is the best these do.

#1 take-a-way: Be sure to clean the surface first! I use an alcohol spray with a cloth to prep the surface (just don't get it on your screen of course). Good brightness and lots of settings on the remote to fit your mood. I installed mine on the bottom of the screen shooting straight down since I use my TV as a monitor too. Provides just the right amount of light at night for my desk and looks cool. Plugs in to your TV's USB socket (if you have one) and of course it must be a powered one. It will also run on almost any cell phone charger. The 3ft size was perfect since I was not wrapping the whole TV-- just getting some colorful lighting for my desk.

I bought these to put in a shadow Box. The length was perfect multicolors remote works great. You also have to make a small notch on the back panel to accommodate wire. Was able to cut it to length. But remember once you cut it there's no going back.

I bought a few of these LED strips, and they are pretty awesome. I have one that lines the bar in my kitchen, one that is on my living TV, and one that lines my desk in my office. So yes, they illuminate really well, and the remote has cool features. They're definitely a good buy for the price. The reason why I didn't rate them for 5 stars is that the remote is weird. When I go to change the color of one of the strips, they all change. They could be in various parts of the house, but the signal from the remote hits all of them. it isn't like you can just aim it at one of the strips to just change one of them. So I have to unplug the others to change the color of one of them. So while I found a way around this minor flaw, it's a bit annoying. Otherwise, I'm definitely satisfied.

I'm using this as a down-light on the bottom of my iMac, which is suspended on an arm about 12" above my desk. It took some work to mount the lights facing down without blocking the vents on the Mac. Shines a nice low light with enough brightness to illuminate a black keyboard in a dark room, and color and brightness is adjustable via the remote. It powers from the USB on the Mac so there are no extra cords hanging around. My only complaint (still giving 5 stars) is that without any diffuser there's some RGB separation in the reflection and shadows. If the lights are set to white for instance, there are red, green, and blue specular reflections on glass surfaces although the overall color is white. I could probably use a strip of frosted plastic to cover the LEDs to remedy the issue. No problems with the adhesive sticking to the aluminum on my machine, but I had to use some clear tape anyway to get the lights mounted at an angle downward. The lights are mounted behind the bottom of the machine to avoid the vent holes and to block visibility of the LEDs themselves from where I sit. But there's still a good amount of light all the way out to the edge of the desk. I've posted some pictures taken in a dark room at night with only light from the Mac displays and this LED strip, so you can see the light output. Note that I've trimmed this down to about 21", which is just over half its total length
