  • Six healthy ghost chili peppers
My son had wanted me to grow some ghost peppers, so I gave these a try. I put the can under my plant lights and they spouted within 10 days. A month later I have 6 plants and have transplanted them to bigger containers until they are ready to go outside. Ii am keeping them under the lights until then. I have never tried to grow anything inside without plant lights, so that may be why some people did not have success. I did add a little fish emulsion to one water feeding during that time, when a couple of leaves looked a little yellow. You mix 2 tablespoons to one gallon of water. I plan to plant a couple in my raised bed garden and give the rest to some friends that enjoy hot stuff. It's too bad you can't post a picture here, because they look great. Update: It is now August and I have about 50 peppers on the one in the raised bed and am running out of recipes to use them in! I think it is time to buy a dehydrator. The one in the ground has blooms, but no peppers yet. I gave one to a friend who is growing it in a big pot and she has lots of peppers, so in my opinion a raised bed or large pot is the best way to grow them after transplanting from the can. ... show more

  • An Abundance of Ghost Peppers 🌶
I took a chance on this product since it has mostly bad reviews but WOW was I surprised. I purchased this plant in July 2019 it is now May 2020 and my pepper plant is 3ft tall with 29 ghost peppers growing on it. I followed all instructions on the can until my plant outgrew the can and I repotted it in a larger pot. My ghost pepper now sits in a 6 gallon pot and is soooo happy. I live in South Florida so my plants get lots of sun and humidity, I water them daily (the peppers are very thirsty) and sometimes use Fox Farms nutrients. Highly recommend this company. I also have a giant Carolina Reaper plant from them that is happy and thriving with tons of peppers. ... show more

  • 2 sprouts, bad soil, odd fruit
so i got 2 sprouts, and was very happy raising the little buggers, but now that theyre in my garden, one plant started to produce a chili. the chili had a stinger, much like a trinidad, but i assumed it was just growing and would even out later. well it didnt. ive included a photo of the almost mature fruit. maybe its just a black sheep, who knows? anyways when i decided to transplant, i was a little ticked off. the can says "mineral enriched soil," but what you really get is cotton with some mulch on top. all in all it makes a cool gift, but if you wish to grow these for personal use youre better off buying a $4 baggie of 20 seeds. UPDATE: that odd looking pepper was a black sheep, as there are about 20 great looking ghost peppers on the plant! Good quality seeds! ... show more

  • Ain't growing nuthin....
I thought this was gonna be a great gift idea for my culinary inclined homies. But alas, that is it would have been.... If anything grew. Followed the instructions to a "T". But have so far not had a single sprout. I even tried to germinate the extra seeds the same way I do for the rest of the garden. But no dice, no peppers. And I'd say the weather has been near perfect for growing these suckers ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money
I rarely leave bad reviews. I decided to give this a try since I had a pot warmer and plant lights . Nothing happened! The soil disappears after a while and mold/cotton begin to appear. Waste of time and money. Very disappointed

  • Quick germination!!
I this can on Tuesday the 18th and put some water in it. I kept the soil temp at 87F constantly. One week later I have two healthy sprouts that are thriving under a led grow light. I will post updates as it grows. Edit- it's been a couple of days now and these plants are exploding with growth! There are two more sprouts so I have now a total of 4. I have now transplanted them out of the can and feeding them a half strength of hydroponic nutrients and the leaves are getting bigger and bigger ... show more

  • I got varety plants..
I purchased these from Amazon late winter 2013 - planted in the spring of 2013. A few weeks later I had three good sprouts. All of which are still alive today. In fact, as of a few months ago they started actually bearing fruit. All they did was flower last summer. I’m happy with what I’m seeing – I now have MANY peppers getting ripe. It’s March of 2014 now I purchased the Ghost Pepper kit – but now that they are producing, I’m getting not only Ghost peppers, but chocolate habanero and 1 Trinidad Scorpion. Oddly they are all growing from the same plants… That’s why I’m only giving it 4 stars. If I’d wanted chocolate habanero – I would have bought those – and there are way more of those growing. Happy Growing! You might see some good peppers in a year. ... show more

  • 50/50
I tried 3 different times, different ways ( but the same how it is indicated on the can ) .. after 5 months I decided to let one star review.
